First Principles: It Is Necessary For Every American…To Endeavor To Stop the Dissemination of Principles, ..Destructive of the Cause For Which They Have Bled

“It is necessary for every American, with becoming energy to endeavor to stop the dissemination of principles evidently destructive of the cause for which they have bled. It must be the combined virtue of the rulers and of the people to do this, and to rescue and save their civil and religious rights from the outstretched arm of tyranny, which may appear under any mode or form of government.” – Mercy Warren (1805)

My Foundation

And Thus the Lord of War Turned His Page
My Foundation
by Michael Doyle

When everything around is shaking
And my heart falls apart breaking
My best battles begin on my knees
Casting my worry and fears on the breeze

Knowing that I can trust the Lord
To find the words as shield and sword
My faith in Jesus won't let me down
In turning my losses into victory's crown

God is with me with His mercy mild
I raise my hands as if a holy child
I find my safety on this foundation
Rain comes and winds blow through situations

That seem to be beyond my control
But the rock of ages, known in stages and roles
Has faith writing the best of my pages
However, much it is the that the world rages

The world may be at the end of rope
But Jesus remains our bright hope
Living each day through our paces
We will live love through all our phases

Thought For the Day: Protest Songs Have Long Played A Critical Part of Our Political Dialogue, From “Yankee Doodle Dandy” to “War”

“Protest songs have long played a critical part of our political dialogue, from ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’ to ‘War.’ This controversy only helps highlight how the corporate effort to control what people hear or consume is backfiring.” – Jonathan Turley

As man who has lived around the world but always had a small town heart, I could not agree with the sentiments expressed in Aldean’s song. There is nothing that advocates any more than self defense and taking care of others in our community. If that’s offensive to someone else. That’s on you, not us.

Jason Aldean – Try That In A Small Town

First Principles: Every Man Who Loves Liberty Ought To Have It Ever Before His Eyes That He May Cherish In His Heart A Due Attachment to the Union of America

“Every man who loves peace, every man who loves his country, every man who loves liberty ought to have it ever before his eyes that he may cherish in his heart a due attachment to the Union of America and be able to set a due value on the means of preserving it.” – James Madison (1788)

First Principles: Never Suppose That In Any Possible Situation, Or Under Any Circumstances, It Is Best For You To Do A Dishonorable Thing

“Give up money, give up fame, give up science, give the earth itself and all it contains rather than do an immoral act. And never suppose that in any possible situation, or under any circumstances, it is best for you to do a dishonorable thing, however slightly so it may appear to you.” – Thomas Jefferson (1785)

His Cure

Bamboo 2022 - The Way You Waved Goodbye
His Cure
by Michael Doyle

Jehovah by name
He takes our blame
Purified in praise
Bringing light to our days

His is the peace
That wins from sin, our release
Giving us our freedom
In the name of His Kingdom

He who has set the stars
Allowing us healing from our scars
Has turned humanity's empty words
Into love's action verbs

Turning fear into resurrection
Pain becomes its correction
Our mourning has been broken
By His love in words spoken

God is the only way
To bring to us a new day
His path is steady and sure
Graves into gardens is His cure
