Home For the Win

Orange - A Child's Play
Home For the Win
by Michael Doyle

The most important place to win
Is in our home; every now and then
To be the parents that we wish to be
Living in every thoughtful possibility

It's not about being perfect but present
To declare the truth wisely as if Heaven sent
For parents to do this, we must start to train
Ourselves in references lived within each refrain

Righteous parenting is considered in every step we take
And is to help our children in the life they'll make
Bringing the gift brought through living health
That involves us greater than all other wealth

Softening hearts with every word that we say
Focusing on eternity and just the events of the day
We do our best to focus on things eternal
And keeping our children from facing the infernal

We must practice diligently our best Jesus walk
That sets an example far beyond the words we talk
Solidly living out our faith as our foundation
And living lives that require no need for explanation

This is a battle that begins on our well-worn knees
And doing life effectively and living within authority
Anointed to play out the grace that is needed
We keep on our holy path with God duly heeded

We are committed to our walk beyond our mistakes
Enduring and learning from all of our hear beaks
As we speak life over our children in all we see
Leaning on their visions and dreams of possibility

Being a parent is a life of apology and love
Learning and changing for the better under Heaven above
We need this blessing spoken over our lives to be
The encouragers reaching for every possibility

Every child is unique in what and who they are
And unlike cookie cutters, we must treat them like stars
As for our home, we shall serve the Lord as we should
Together is the better of the life that we would

If we are to reach the dreams within our hearts
We must grab it with our open hands from the start
Willing to be the ones who dares to walk in love
And taking our best lessons from up above

Thought For the Day: Authority Has Every Reason To Fear the Skeptic, For Authority Can Rarely Survive In the Face of Doubt

First Principles: The Cunning of the Fox Is As Murderous As the Violence of the Wolf

“It is the madness of folly, to expect mercy from those who have refused to do justice; and even mercy, where conquest is the object, is only a trick of war; the cunning of the fox is as murderous as the violence of the wolf.” – Thomas Paine (1776)

God’s Holy Power

Shamatha - The Liion's Share
God's Holy Power
by Michael Doyle

Through Jesus, everything with breath
Knows its salvation from its death
Amazed by what we have found
We awaken to this holy sound

Our words form in praise
As we proclaim His name through our days
Said with the correct intention
Miracles have become our conviction

His kingdom triumphs over sin
As we find our battle feet again
Standing together for his name
Covered in righteousness replacing shame

Finding true unity and not division
We seek to live out this living vision
Finding strength in this holy hour
We speak to God's holy power

Singing our songs of faithfulness
That leave us in our breathlessness
Each moment filled with turning pages
We live in reliance on the Rock of Ages

First Principles: Governments Do Not Make Ideals, But Ideals Make Governments

“Governments do not make ideals, but ideals make governments. This is both historically and logically true. Of course, the government can help to sustain ideals and can create institutions through which they can be the better observed, but their source by their very nature is in the people. … It is not the enactment, but the observance of laws, that creates the character of a nation.” -President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933)

A Sunrise Journey

Mni Wiconi - Ultimate Sunrise
A Sunrise Journey
by Michael Doyle

Clouds hang high in the morning sky
As if painted for the poet's eye
There's a journey undertaken by the heart
Where the holiest of holy finds its start

Like a seagull traveling light on its journey
A soul travels reaching for its destiny
The questions begin with, "Why can't I?"
If only faster, or farther, or maybe just how high

We accept the limits that we are given
Blinded until we learn to see and be forgiven
Living for our dreams beyond what we know
Or all is lived for nothing but it's constant flow

Can you be greater?... somehow a bit more?
Taken wings as you bravely soar
Nothing to worry about but to simply try
Maybe it's okay to spread your wings and fly...

First Principles: If Individuals Be Not Influenced By Moral Principles; It Is In Vain To Look For Public Virtue

“If individuals be not influenced by moral principles; it is in vain to look for public virtue; it is, therefore, the duty of legislators to enforce, both by precept and example, the utility, as well as the necessity of a strict adherence to the rules of distributive justice.” – James Madison (1789)
