First Principles: All the Children Are Trained Up To This Kind of Knowledge: They Are Accustomed From Their Earliest Years To Read the Holy Scriptures

“Among the customs which are universal among the people, in all parts of the state, one that seems worthy of remark, is, the attention that is paid to the education of children. The aim of the parent, is not so much to have his children acquainted with the liberal arts and sciences; but to have them all taught to read with ease and propriety; to write a plain and legible hand; and to have them acquainted with the rules of arithmetic, so far as shall be necessary to carry on any of the most common and necessary occupations of life.”

“All the children are trained up to this kind of knowledge: They are accustomed from their earliest years to read the Holy Scriptures, the periodical publications, newspapers, and political pamphlets; to form some general acquaintance with the laws of their country, the proceedings of the courts of justice, of the general assembly of the state, and of the Congress, &c. Such a kind of education is common and universal in every part of the state.” – Samuel Williams, a professor at Harvard College, wrote about the importance of education in The Natural and Civil History of Vermont in 1794

Notice a few things from that which is presented here. First, that the Holy Scriptures were a regular and considered necessary part of a child’s education. This removes any doubt that the American republic rests on a Christian foundation. But also notice that in this illustration, we have three mothers in the corner observing the education of their children. This pretense that parents have no right to oversee the education of their children has no grounding in the history and tradition of our nation. Parents have every right and should exercise this right diligently. It is the parents and not the government who are ultimately responsible for the education, manners, morals, and welfare of their children.

Thought For the Day: Most Creativity Is A Transition From One Context Into Another Where Things Are More Surprising

“Most creativity is a transition from one context into another where things are more surprising. There’s an element of surprise, and especially in science, there is often laughter that goes along with the ‘Aha’. Art also has this element. Our job is to remind us that there are more contexts than the one that we’re in — the one that we think is reality.” – Alan Kay, computer scientist (b. 17 May 1940)

Da Vinci’s Glow

Da Vinci's Glow
by Michael Doyle

It is said that the Master of All Trades
Was a miracle worker coming up all spades
He said that every painting is visual poetry
And all poetry is a masterpiece verbally

What others glimpse, the artist learns to see
In all that is heavens above there is no mystery
That God is the greatest artist in great simplicity
It's a matter of recognizing sophistication magically

It's the little minds that fear and a quickly shrink
While braver souls look to the heavens and think
As they look on the earthshine of the moon's ashen glow
Stargazers marvel at the sight Da Vinci was first to know

The new moon causes the earth to catch reflection in night
There visually before us, the sun's ghost shines its light
In mistaken gesture, Da Vinci attributed this to the ocean
But the true cause found was the clouds above in motion

Iridescent, Da Vinci's glow captures the crescent moon true
As late spring wafts in the air bringing summer into view
Like an ancient riddle that brings joy even without resolution
It is easily seen out beyond the city's light pollution

Eyes watch as the old moon falls into the new moon's open arms
Displayed before us all, the night skies reveal these charms
Bringing light into the dark that becomes a ghostly light
In a darkness swallowed brighter than the full moon's sight

Sometimes error can seem truer than right at least mentally
As proven when the astronauts strode onto the Sea of Tranquility
Written in the moon dust, is the whisper Leonardo was here
And the mistakes embraced are mere quibbles to be made clear

Thought For the Day: The Durham Report Is Damning. It Shows the FBI Operating As A Disinformation Shop for the Clinton Campaign

“The Durham report is damning. It shows the FBI operating as a disinformation shop for the Clinton campaign, ignoring its own rules, and blatantly & maliciously interfering in a presidential election. The Steele dossier was fake, and FBI knew it all along.” – John Daniel Davidson

Don’t be spoon fed by political hacks who are playing like the American people need Pravda for socialist home rule and not the truth of what is actually said in the Durham Report. Read it for yourself and understand that our American republic has NEVER seen such duplicity on this level:

First Principles: If A Nation Expects To Be Ignorant – and Free – In A State of Civilization, It Expects What Never Was and Never Will Be

“If a nation expects to be ignorant — and free — in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. The functionaries of every government have propensities to command at will the liberty & property of their constituents. there is no safe deposit for these but with the people themselves; nor can they be safe with them without information. where the press is free and every man able to read, all is safe. – Thomas Jefferson (1816)

In Processes Already Fought and Lost

LEA 19: No Frontiers - Targetted Approach
In Processes Already Fought and Lost
by Michael Doyle

There stuck in the muddle of succession
Were hints of insight from past elections
Inside stories to elections that were lost
Stolen as it were to the People's cost

Fury builds to crescendo spilling into riot
Where the elite wish the masses to be quiet
Preached as if inspired by classics inspired rage
Where theories of how things "should be" fill the page

Limited abilities are still able to carry the night
Filled with angst, frustration, and timeless slight
If only the stench could be washed from the hair
When listless-wonders blunder on without any care

There are temptations questioning the founts of power
Filling the moments that make up the news hour
There is a lot of swag to be delivered on the take
Toward the questions that life and art frame and shake

Information is shared like the finest of wines, but more
It is hoarded and kept in the dark until unleashed like war
Use at that critical moment to smash into someone's face
Like a weapon of mass media-destruction we all love to embrace

Checking all such weapons at the director's caged gate
Spilled across the set like it was all intended fate
There are steps to the waltz that resemble a slower dance
Until reassembled as needed in a moment's circumstance

It's easy to ignore all the facts for the incendiary stuff
All it takes is the appearance of cool heads to edge into bluff
Words tumble out so carelessly as if it was all natural
That's the way of the politically wicked for all they're capable

It's a riff game of madness, wondering who can ever top this
In a steady beat of fabrications that hit target and cannot miss
Until finally there is an extensive investigation and it's true
Now isn't that funny how truth can really change the point of view

First Principles: America Has Taken Greatest Advantage of Association and Has Applied This Powerful Means of Action To the Greatest Variety of Objectives

“Of all countries in the world, America has taken greatest advantage of association and has applied this powerful means of action to the greatest variety of objectives…Wherever, at the head of a new undertaking, you see in France the government, and in England, a great lord, count on seeing in the United States, an association.” – Alexis du Tocqueville
