It’s Natural

So This Happened - They Said Drinking Would Be the Death of Him...
It's Natural
by Michael Doyle

It is as natural to die
As it is to be born
There is no point in asking why
Nor is there to mourn

The only reason we exist
Is not to serve in some quest
But to know, after we no longer persist
It is then time, we find our rest

When the reaper comes for me
I hope to meet him well met
And that others remember me happily
That I've passed this way and won't forget

It is in these little things
That seem so often mundane
That really adds up to everything
And all else is truly in vain

To have told you that I love you
One last time is all to me
It's funny what a dying man will do
To ensure those he loves will go on happy

First Principles: Love Is Patient, Love Is Kind. It Does Not Envy, It Does Not Boast, It Is Not Proud. It Does Not Dishonor Others, It is Not Self-Seeking, It Is Not Easily Angered, It Keeps No Record of Wrongs

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Before the Darkness

The Magic Factory 2022 - Seemingly Sincere
Before the Darkness
by Michael Doyle

Before the darkness
There was light
And with that division
Became the night

Legends have it
As legends will
That the evil one
Is necessary to the tale

Bleak is the season
In which we search for answers
It is the soul's own treason
When fear spreads like cancer

Darkness begins quietly
As it starts to silently flow
With a single spark
It seeps in and starts to grow

Thought For the Day: Ah, Good Taste, What A Dreadful Thing! Taste Is the Enemy of Creativeness

“Ah, good taste, what a dreadful thing! Taste is the enemy of creativeness.” – Pablo Picasso, painter and sculptor (1881-1973)

And with this quote, Mr. Picasso pointe out to me why I don’t much care for his work. It’s a matter of taste and his opinion of good taste. From his mouth to the ear of God and the world.

First Principles: Before A Standing Army Can Rule, the People Must Be Disarmed; As They Are In Almost Every Kingdom of Europe

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe.” – Noah Webster (1787)

When someone tells you that the right to bear arms exists for target practice and hunting, tell them you know better. When someone tells you that the second amendment is outdated, remind them of the hostile takeover in Hong Kong (disarmed) versus Ukraine’s standing up its populace versus this Russian invasion. Maybe they’ll see the light? If not remind them of World War II and what happened then.
