First Principles: There Must Be A Positive Passion For the Public Good, the Public Interest, Honor, Power, and Glory, Established In the Minds of the People, Or There Can Be No Republican Government

“There must be a positive passion for the public good, the public interest, honour, power and glory, established in the minds of the people, or there can be no republican government, nor any real liberty: and this public passion must be superiour to all private passions.” – John Adams (1776)

Recovering the Way To Self

The Ultimate Steam Punk Hat at SL19B
Recovering the Way To Self
by Michael Doyle

Coming back from catastrophe
Takes the best of you and me
Still you must move toward
This attitude to move forward

In overcoming adversity
This is the challenge for you and me
Dramatic changes come and go
This is the path of life's flow

Life's changing moments happen fast
Let's be grateful for things that last
Having the character to walk the walk
Takes more than fast and loose talk

Tenacity is needed to keep going on
A you become aware of being no longer strong
No person is truly a superman
But we mere mortals do the best that we can

Sometimes stuck in moments of weakness
Even when the odds are not in favor, do not speak this
But keep focused on the dreams and the goals
This is what's necessary and good for the soul

True success is in the love you share and live
It's not what you take but in what you give
Always give your one hundred to everything
No matter how little, it's what you can bring

In the ebbs and flows of life taken at length
These are the spaces where you find true strength
Everyone is going through something, even if unseen
It's just the walk of being a human being

Fight the good fight while keeping a positive attitude
Whatever the obstacle, it gives the proper latitude
Keeping good people around you in your extended family
And will help you keep toward the best you can be

Keep the ambitions as you know that you truly must
Living life with love and knowing that you can trust
These are the steps that must be taken
Whatever comes in life, you must never be shaken

Always remember to be your best self
It's the best you can be and nobody else
Recovery is a journey of full transformation
It's the path back based on your best information

Thought For the Day: With News Reports Around the Globe and Now A Presidential Imprimatur, However, the Story Has Acquired the Status of A ‘Fact’ No Matter Its Provenance

“With news reports around the globe and now a presidential imprimatur, however, the story has acquired the status of a ‘fact’ no matter its provenance.” – Glenn Kessler, Washington Post “Fact Checker”

The Washington Post has made it clear that that there is no evidence for this metaphorical 10-year-old child being raped, let alone made pregnant, let alone any of this story about traveling to Indianapolis for an abortion. Nor would it have been required for the girl to have traveled for an abortion in this scenario. Biden has once again lied for political gain. A one-source story about a 10-year-old and an abortion goes viral – The Washington Post This story about the alleged incident is a prime example of the “Big Lie”.

First Principles: This Falsehood of the Tongue Leads To That of the Heart, and In Time Depraves All Its Good Disposition

“It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition.” – Thomas Jefferson (1785)

First Principles: ‘Tis the Business of Little Minds to Shrink; But He Whose Heart Is Firm, and Whose Conscience Approves His Conduct, Will Pursue His Principles Unto Death

“I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death.” – Thomas Paine, The Crisis, No 1, 1776

Love Was There

Moonlit River - Yet Another Path to Wander
Love Was There
by Michael Doyle

Along the country roads of my youth
I learned a few jokes and a lot of truth
Singing along with the radio show
A lot joy there and it continues to flow

So many smiles built on memory
Times spent with my family
Nothing would bring this crashing down
My childhood wore victory's crown

Despite the many distractions
Stopping at every roadside attraction
There were a million songs to sing
And love was there in everything

This is what I would wish to give
While it is that I still manage to live
To my daughters who I love more than I can say
And it is for this that I quietly pray

That every moment yet lived as a choice
That mine will be the loving, kind voice
That patiently helps them learn their way
And for which I fight every moment to stay

Doing my best to fill their days with joy
And when I am tired I try hard to be coy
Switching to yet another dad joke to push through
Because that's just the kind of thing a dad will do

Sharing with them love of music and of art
Watching happily as they learn to follow their hearts
Hoping that when they grow up, love will be there
As they look back on memories and need good cheer

First Principles: Only Aim To Do Your Duty, and Mankind Will Give You Credit Where You Fail

“It behooves you, therefore, to think and act for yourself and your people. The great principles of right and wrong are legible to every reader; to pursue them requires not the aid of many counselors. The whole art of government consists in the art of being honest. Only aim to do your duty, and mankind will give you credit where you fail.” – Thomas Jefferson (1775)

Road Tripping

{PAPPADO},- Anchored In the Sunrise
Road Tripping
by Michael Doyle

In a long history of driving places
Filled with love and smiling faces
We took it up to a whole new level
Where boredom was the only Devil

It's all in about that sort of journey
On our way to the edges of eternity
In which every moment is worthwhile
When it leas to that endless smile

Let this then be our biggest motivation
As we reach out with hope for destination
We change the world in our standing apart
Measured by the goodness in our hearts

Measured mainly by our sending capacity
Giving out God's love to our capability
Always on to the next best excitement
This then is our brand of incitement

Drinking as we do from the well at noon
Conflicts of our own making can resolve soon
If only we would let in the love we receive
The world would fade away unable to deceive

We may feel as though we do not have to go to
Or on the paths that lead through Samaria
But if we are to do what we must best do
We'll have to tread through some areas

Setting examples as we walk each day
Letting our choices reflect God's way
Always kept in mind the delicate grace
In which we are born to each embrace

Living waters shared in circumspection
Each day on the way to living our destination
Loaded conversations filled with love's embrace
We share the faith of promises taken on their face

What then are the tools that will be needed
To make the case for what is most surely pleaded
Sharing the truth of Jesus while we're together
Let each of us make the journey to find the better

No more hiding under the veil of broken shame
We must instead truly come to live without blame
Replenishing as living containers filled with soul
We learn to walk lighter and with the Lord to console

We have never been loved like this in days before
Leaning in now to know all is one and nothing more
And that managed shame is the weight we carry
While shared grace out lives what it is that we bury

Goodness and mercy shines through from the Lord
There is no more need for shield or the sword
We are each loved despite of our worst flaws
Each of us held blameless despite the laws

The rocks in the mountain and water in the ocean
Are equal in weight before our final destination
As too, no sin is lesser nor any held as greater
All is revealed before we share our final Seder

Concept without context is no kind of a breakthrough
It's the hard work that we must always find and do
Lifted eyes find the harvest we have yet to yield
Comes best from the inside and not always from field

Knowing the care of broken persons is no easy thing
We must face it by bringing our best game we can bring
Telling our best version of the story in its narrative
The harvest is the hardest in its true declarative

For here in America, the nation has lost its very soul
And the mission field is home to be taken on as our role
Bringing back the truth needed in our living testimony
Making believers out of the existing shreds of parsimony

The truth of Jesus is not looking to loudly weigh in
It is God knocking and looking for His loving way in
Into the giving and showing the justice of hope and love
That can bring to Earth the ways of Heaven above

Let it be the prayer given in reflected contemplation
That is mostly the ways of Jesus in their detection
As we go outside the comfort zones of our preference
This then is the holiness of the must-have experience
