First Principles: It Is the Duty of Parents To Maintain Their Children Decently, and According To Their Circumstances; To Protect Them According To the Dictates of Prudence

“It is the duty of parents to maintain their children decently, and according to their circumstances; to protect them according to the dictates of prudence; and to educate them according to the suggestions of a judicious and zealous regard for their usefulness, their respectability and happiness.” – James Wilson (1791)

Thought For the Day: The Most Wonderful of All Things In Life, I Believe, Is the Discovery of Another Human Being With Whom One’s Relationship Has A Glowing Depth, Beauty, and Joy As the Years Increase

“The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one’s relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident.” – Hugh Walpole, writer (13 Mar 1884-1941)

Life For Dummies

Le Cirque De La Nuit Light Puppets On A String
Life For Dummies
by Michael Doyle

Life for dummies
Would be a fine deal
On in any study
There are skills to reveal

Building blocks of life
That take us from here to there
Lessons needed to move past strife
Are to be heeded without fear

Living by the Gospel amounts to this
The step-by-step we shouldn't miss
Lessons lived should be lessons learned
And from these wisdom discerned

The only righteousness is that given
And living our grace in being forgiven
Keeping it in heart and in our heads
That it is only through Him and what He's said

To reject this or to rejoice
We must keep faith affirmed by our voice
We'll rejoice in keeping worship
As if we are to one another, royal kinship

To God, we must be made right
Walking away from darkness into light
Unmerited favor is given in His grace
It's a gift we must merely embrace

First Principles: We Are Either A United People, Or We Are Not.

“We are either a United people, or we are not. If the former, let us, in all matters of general concern act as a nation, which have national objects to promote, and a national character to support.” – George Washington (1785)

Thought For the Day: Power Is Not A Matter of Domination of Others…But Rather of Coalition-Building To Persuade Others To Contribute What They Can To An Innovation

“Power is not a matter of domination of others, of winning over them and cutting them out, or of monopolization of resources, but rather of coalition-building to persuade others to contribute what they can to an innovation.” – Rosabeth Kantor, The Change Makers

With An Inept Jab

Pela's Land - Stop War - A Small Gathering In Opposition
With An Inept Jab
by Michael Doyle

With an inept Parkinson jab
Putin attempts to plant
The false flag of a bioweapons lab
As part of his hateful rant

Claiming Ukraine as part of his empire
Basing this as birthright of the Rus
But such a claim has long expired
And stands only as historical abuse

Long has Ukraine fought for independence
Across the breadth of the Tartar plains
Such claims only strain in transcendence
As the cry of freedom knows birth pains

Showing the danger of calling out views
As extremist if not one's particular choice
Putin calls out the truth as false news
In his vain attempt to suppress Ukraine's voice

Putin is testing the will of those in the West
Pushing for Mother Russia's need for territory
Is this the beginning of World War III in this test
Put on the world for a tyrant's desire for legacy

The fight is on and sadly it must be fought
In the grains of life we see an escalation
Though it is not something that we have sought
The need to rise for Ukraine needs no explanation

First Principles: To Maintain the Ascendancy of the Constitution Over the Lawmaking Majority Is the Great and Essential Point On Which the Success of the American System Must Depend

“To maintain the ascendancy of the Constitution over the lawmaking majority is the great and essential point on which the success of the [American] system must depend; unless that ascendancy can be preserved, the necessary consequence must be that the laws will supersede the Constitution; and, finally, the will of the Executive, by influence of its patronage, will supersede the laws.” – John C. Calhoun (1782-1850)

His Grace Forever

Moonlit River - Yet Another Path to Wander
His Grace Forever
by Michael Doyle

With the Lord's grace
We turn in life to embrace
The next adventure we're on
All our busy days are too soon gone

The Devil must be disappointed
As we're saved by the Annointed
Having turned our lives around
Keeping our feet planted on the ground

With every step we've taken
Sometimes stirred, sometimes shaken
We give our hearts to the Lord above
Learning to walk by Heaven's love

The steps taken with every breath
Loved by the Lord and saved from death
His then is the sacred holiness
The only path of joy and true happiness

And we are His forever
Destined to find our way together

Thought For the Day: The Happiness of Your Life Depends Upon the Quality of Your Thoughts; Therefore, Guard Accordingly, and Take Care That You Entertain No Notions Unsuitable To Virtue and Reasonable Nature
