Strange...at this time in history That two thirds of children live in poverty This is something we can change If only our priorities, we would rearrange
Each step that we might take Can be the difference that we make This is the shine we should not shake And the walk of belief we cannot fake
Whatever we do for those among the least Is a step forward in destroying the beast Where we see hunger, we can feed It's a simple truth that we must concede
Where there is fear and sorrow We can shine forward a new tomorrow This then is one thing we can do Sharing God's love given, me and you

“I … place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared. … Taxation follows that, and in its turn wretchedness and oppression.” – Thomas Jefferson, Letter to William Plumer, 1816
Reversing the brokenness of circumstance To give sacred life to its every chance Knowing that those who have less are not less However much life's moments might be a mess
The most hurting present are our family Blessed be this truth in affirmed dignity Each child met in their needs and in real time Are like words collected into the best rhyme
Take your drink of life giving water Given in the prayerful mercy from our Father Giving our own best moments like a seismic shift In humble supplication, we pray it provides lift
Raised all across this best of blessed nations Given unto each as needed with great appreciation The roads we must climb are no longer stranger Yet, with each step are filled with dread and danger
The troubles felt seem as lived in isolation Yet, we are not alone in reaching for our destination We are meant to always encourage one another As each of us would give these words to sister or brother
Waiting as we are to restore the broken circumstances In hopeful reminder to take and make the best of chance Swirled as it is, we know that we do not walk alone Every sin confessed is our moments to release and atone
Its our part of this kingdom to take opportunity And pioneer our way into serving into God's true legacy Blown away in faith, we must live as one family Deserving God's blessing and knowing affirmed dignity
Go ahead then and take a moment to make the decision To take on our part's better service with vision The choice it seems is already ready to be made Walk these roads bravely and be not afraid

“The most important service rendered by the press and the magazines is that of educating people to approach printed matter with distrust.” – Samuel Butler (1835-1902)
“If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions.” – James Madison (1792)
“We must learn to honor excellence in every socially accepted human activity, however humble the activity, and to scorn shoddiness, however exalted the activity. An excellent plumber is infinitely more admirable than an incompetent philosopher. The society that scorns excellence in plumbing because plumbing is a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy. Neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water.” -John W. Gardner, author and leader (8 Oct 1912-2002)
Christeaster Christians Without real meaning Twice a year Find their way home Christer Christians In their presence being Bubbled in their tears Feel lost and alone
Miracles prayed for Without believing Find their own way Hitting hard without courage There must be more Despite the deceiving Can it be felt today Lived in hope we encourage
Finding steps to declare And believe in something pure Holding hands reaching high Surrendering to God above Finding our way back to square Despite all things we endure Giving up on what is passing by We learn to live again walking in love
Heading out of Australia to escape this Aussie winter. First stop Japan, then UK/Ireland and if work doesn't call me back, onto Chicago. I will make it up as I go along
