Thought of the Day: Tyranny and Slavery, Are Alike Detestable To Minds Conscious of the Equal Dignity of Human Nature

“That the God of nature gave them life and freedom, upon the terms of the most perfect equality with other men; That freedom is an inherent right of the human species, not to be surrendered, but by consent… Tyranny and Slavery, are alike detestable to Minds conscious of the equal Dignity of human Nature …” – Prince Whipple and the 19 others constituting “The Natives of Africa In Portsmouth, New Hampshire (1779) – For further reference, please see Kaplan, Sidney; Kaplan, Emma Nogrady (1975). The Black Presence in the Era of the American Revolution 1770–1800. Whispered My Reminder

Whispered My Reminder
by Michael Doyle

Whispered my reminder
Of how it should be
I thought I'd never find her
My side by side for eternity

You hear it said that true love
Lasts and you know it never ends
God reveals this from above
Patiently blessing lovers as friends

I could conquer this world
And it would mean nothing at all
With my battle flags unfurled
But it's better that I know and recall

That love is patient and kind
Lived for one another every day
Lady, you're always on my mind
I would have it no other way

Love it seems bears all things
Believing in the hope of tomorrow
Seeing the good every day brings
Letting hope replace our sorrows

My old ways slip away from this man
Who knows his woman is a Godly one
I'm promising to always do what I can
That dimmed mirror won't leave me undone

Walking every beat of my wounded heart
Leaving it behind as I know that I should
With you and me being our own fresh start
The circle completes in blessings felt good

First Principles: It Is Necessary For Every American, With Becoming Energy To Endeavor To Stop the Dissemination of Principles Evidently Destructive of the Cause For Which They Have Bled

“It is necessary for every American, with becoming energy to endeavor to stop the dissemination of principles evidently destructive of the cause for which they have bled. It must be the combined virtue of the rulers and of the people to do this, and to rescue and save their civil and religious rights from the outstretched arm of tyranny, which may appear under any mode or form of government.” – Mercy Warren (1805)

First Principles: I Had Always Hoped That the Younger Generation…After the Flame of Liberty Had Been Kindled In Every Breast…Would Have Sympathized With Oppression Wherever Found

“I had always hoped that the younger generation, receiving their early impressions after the flame of liberty had been kindled in every breast … would have sympathized with oppression wherever found, and proved their love of liberty beyond their own share of it.” – Thomas Jefferson (1814)

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine's Day
by Michael Doyle

My mind's blown
By the love you've shown
In presenting me
Things of love shown clearly
My heart is thumping so dearly
Happy Valentine's Day!

Every day is the awesome
As I watch our love blossom
Handed to me as these bloom
My heart's going boom, boom, boom
It's the best sort of doom
Happy Valentine's Day!

Our love is like poetry in motion
Deeper than my words of devotion
Set blue like the sacred ocean
People ask what's the commotion
Like they don't have a notion,
Happy Valentine's Day!

Every moment leads to another
Never want any sort of other
Than my Valentine's magic
All else would be more than tragic
Step by step, we keep taking it further
Happy Valentine's Day!

Snaps from the thing called real life
Bringing me peace instead of strife
The fragrance of this rose bouquet
Is as fresh as that first sight day
When you told me you would stay
Happy Valentine's Day!

Thought For the Day: In Rivers, the Water That You Touch Is the Last of What Has Passed and the First of That Which Comes; So With Present Time

First Principles: Knowledge Will Forever Govern Ignorance

“Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives. A popular government without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy or perhaps both” – James Madison
