My Testimony

My Testimony
by Michael Doyle

Saving lives and broken chains.
His comfort came in the rains.
The passing storms help us grow.
My peace in Jesus is what I know.

Moments spent feeling overcome,
I put my faith in God's kingdom.
The wings might blow, making me shake,
But my foundation will never break.

Hallelujah will remain my testimony.
Keeping faith that the Lord loves me.
My hands lift in praise to the sky.
My voice is love in my reply.

Love is given in magnification
As we sing our songs in celebration.
We know all that the Lord has done.
We are believers in the Father and the Son.

Focus on the Father makes problems become small.
Sight on the Son, we become 10 feet tall.
In this fight, Satan knows defeat.
We live our faith with every morning that we meet.

Hallelujah will remain my testimony.
Keeping faith that the Lord loves me.
My hands lift in praise to the sky.
My voice is love in my reply.

Thought For the Day: Nature Is A Totally Efficient, Self-Regenerating System. If We Discover the Laws that Govern This System … Sustainability Will Follow

“Nature is a totally efficient, self-regenerating system. IF we discover the laws that govern this system and live synergistically within them, sustainability will follow, and humankind will be a success.” – R. Buckminster Fuller

“Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure (and) which insures to the good eternal happiness, are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments.” – Charles Carrollton of Carrollton, signer of the Declaration of Independence

The Future We’ll Grow

The Future We'll Grow
by Michael Doyle

We've heard at the university
That monoculture destroys diversity.
While nature cultivates its legacy,
Working together against the plantation economy.

Chemical farming came disguised as evolution.
It was, in a sense, codified as the Green Revolution.
Throughout the world, like a horrific coin toss,
Everywhere we turn, we see diversity's loss.

In India, this resulted in soil depletion.
With carbon being released in a gasp of exhalation.
Nutrients have been lost along with fertility.
More and more is lost to the point of futility.

Burning to survive in a collapsed economy,
Debt and suicide have become quite legendary.
We counter this by making the soil healthy,
And this, in turn, creates our food security.

Working with our hands makes for a better living,
And through this, farmers are graced in their giving.
The more sequestered carbon yields more food.
The more food, the greater the elevated mood.

The path to healthy farming is one out of poverty.
Those with hands in the soil are being healthy.
Doing these things provides a warm explanation
Of just what it will take to revitalize the nation.

Soil, like so many things, isn't just property.
When looked at properly, good soil is a legacy.
It is to the extent of our best capability,
Our duty and is a most reverent responsibility.

In My Mind’s Desert

In My Mind's Desert
by Michael Doyle

In my mind's eye, I see
The battling guns that are yet to be.
Cabin fever burns away the drudgery.
It vanquishes every mystery.

To dispel the ghosts takes mourning,
Thorns and all, night must become morning.
Burnt into my gaze like a shared light
That comes to dissipate my longest night.

Swallowed like day takes the night,
All the love in the world didn't make it right.
And I remember the all of everything
That my life so far did not bring.

There is a sweet spot of immortal sin.
The time comes to begin again.
Thorns and all, someone has to pay,
Even if it takes closing the door this way.

A siren calls as I lean into the wind,
Too close to the sun, I have sinned.
Holding on to the distance between,
I wonder if I wlll ever know what it all means.

Swallowed like day takes the night,
All the love in the world didn't make it right.
And I remember the all of everything
That my life so far did not bring.

A Stone’s Throw (David)

A Stone's Throw (David)
by Michael Doyle

In life, sometimes we are picked last.
It's the future that has been cast.
This was once David's position
As he was called to save the Israeli nation.

Sometimes we are on the ebb of favor.
Other times, we own it and gently savor.
David did his best to do his part.
He was the one closest to God in his heart.

Mistake led to repentance, a full circle turned.
From heart to Holy Spirit, we have learned.
To God, we conform and make ourselves right,
Owning our truth, transparent as light.

The House of David taught us well
As we would wish from knowing his tale.
Despite the path of failure and heartbreak,
He lived for God; we must make no mistake.

The giant Goliath is a tale of fear,
With a single stone, David made this disappear.
Moving past obstacles with faith in God's hope,
And with this step, he taught us all how to cope.

Whatever it is that is our circumstance,
We must trust in God and take our chance.
Whatever our opposition, we have a strategy,
And we know its success in mankind's history.

Such is the path of great inspiration.
In the name of the Lord, we lead our nation.
The Lord rescues us from certain defeat.
This is the truth we most often meet.

The greatest care of God carries every day.
We shall let the story of David show the way.
In God's strength, we will duly overcome.
This is our Father's place in His kingdom.

Prayer is the resetting of our attention.
From this point, we trust with intention.
Faith in God brings us to our victory.
This is shown again and again in history.

God gives us the talents and skills we need,
Though at times we might falter and bleed.
But if we are to reach for the kingdom's high,
The least we can expect is that we must try.

At his lowest, David was where he should not be,
Doing, as we often do - doing wrong for all to see.
Some sins rage against the body's purity.
These are the worst in our struggle for morality.

We are instructed by God to run from these times,
While Satanic temptation edges us into fuller crimes.
This cannot and does not lead to any good.
Sin gives way to spiritual death as understood.

Guard rails are put in place for a reason.
This is how life is from season to season.
Such deception will by God be caught,
And there will be a price as there ought.

It comes down to a matter of propriety.
In the end, repeated sins require responsibility.
Sins of such magnitude call for culpability,
And repentance must be made to our capacity.

The path of sin leads to consequence.
The price to be paid will have its recompense.
Though all can and will be forgiven,
It's through God's mercy that its readily given.
