First Principles: Let Every Citizen Remember At the Moment He Is Offering His Vote That…He Is Executing One of the Most Solemn Trusts In Human Society

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual — or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.” – Samuel Adams (1781)

In His Blessing

Angels Rest - Cupids Feed the Dog
In His Blessing
by Michael Doyle

Knowing the path of God
And finding in it stillness
In times, it is so odd
There is a thrill in this

Walking from the darkness into light
Into the daylight from the night
Watching every move made
My strength of faith will never fade

In everything that is conceivable
All things are now made possible
Through the power of His grace
Surrendering as I am to this sense of place

Seen in the firmament of the stars
Gazed on from below and out into the far
Delivered as we are in God's promise
While held safely in the hand of Providence

This then is our faith stated in declaration
Bringing us peace and true inspiration
Feeling the love of His presence
We live now in the refuge of His blessing

“We should be unfaithful to ourselves if we should ever lose sight of the danger to our liberties if anything partial or extraneous should infect the purity of our free, fair, virtuous, and independent elections.” – John Adams (1797)

In Getting To Good Days

Autumn At Whimberly 2020 - Family Time
In Getting To Good Days
by Michael Doyle

Taken then in the reflective
Life is seen in its proper perspective
We Find many reasons for gratitude
And rightly live with that attitude

No longer wearing that intended greed
But in realization that God gives what we need
It's a lesson to shape our changes
Setting sights on thankfulness, not what estranges

Journaling all the good things that God gives
Remembering all of our blessings are because He lives
Lives there and here in each of us as we realize
The beauty of life as we see it materialize

Each day that is lived is an instant's blessing
To be cultivated without any need for second guessing
As we watch God give us an amazing tapestry
Ever changing but beautiful in His memory

All of the life giving gifts of drinks of water
All of the many moments to teach us to think
So many gifts to flow inside our hearts
When experienced through a gratefulness that never departs

This then is the day that God has made
Let's live it in gladness, bravely and unafraid
Living each step taken in holy communion
Until the day when in heaven we live that reunion

Thought For the Day: This Liability Shield …Has…Given These Internet Platforms the Ability To Control, Stifle and Censor Content In Whatever Manner Meets Their Respective Standards

“This liability shield … has been pivotal in protecting online platforms from the endless and potentially ruinous lawsuits, but it has also given these internet platforms the ability to control, stifle, and even censor content in whatever manner meets their respective standards. The time has come for that free pass to end.” – Roger Wicker (R-MS) on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act
