Happiest of Thanksgivings 2019!!

Aloha Promises Forever wishes each of you and yours the very Happiest of Thanksgivings this 2019!  May this one be your best so far and each coming Thanksgiving be even better!!

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” – Psalm 100:4-5

Take time to pause in gratitude for the many blessings God brings to each of our lives!

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.” – Philippians 4:8

As present of sorts for those who have supported Aloha Promises Forever along the way and representative of some of the best things I cherish about our wonderful republic, I offer Charlie Daniels’ “My Beautiful America“.  It speaks to my heart and hopefully yours as well.  Honestly, I cannot watch this silly video without tearing up.

Motives Met

Based in part on 1 Cor 4:5:

Juneteenth Celebration - Eiteljorg Museum - Freetown Singers - Starz In Their Own Light

Motives Met
by Michael Romani

Things of darkness brought to light
Keeping praise to make this right
We are stewards entrusted  to care
Keeping our charges from Satan's snare

When we stand before our Lord's throne
We will be judged for the actions we own
All we care for will be the things we measure
And all that we have kept as precious treasure

It sometimes amounts to the things we sacrifice
In our esteem for others in all that will suffice
It's not so much about the well -being of just we
Few but to  build on the blessings for all humanity

Thankful for our passing through this world's fire
Depending on where we have set our heart's desire
If by grace we  have lived to giving the world much good
Then we will be able to say we did what we should

In the end we will at last meet the motives of our heart
Knowing with finality if they have been pure from the start
Has it been only our own belief in the cleanliness of intention
Or have we lived with the love of God to bring all connection

Finding that our is a God of giving and of all abundance
Brilliantly received with grace and in all true resplendence
So long as the life we live and have loved is for God's glory
This then is the truth of the fulfillment of our story

Always Thankful

A poem of gratitude #27:

Newfields IMA 11242019

Always Thankful
by Michael Romani

You pour another drink
Taking time to think
Seems we all pay our dues
Too often singing the blues

Dark side, downside
Talking about wounded pride
Staring at the shadow plays
Sometimes lost in a haze

But, I'm always thankful
For how you're so graceful
With how you make me feel
And blessed to know it's real

It's the depth of your deepness
Dressed up in your more than sweetness
Arrived at your invitation
The key to my heart's appreciation

There are so many colors in your soul
With each layer that I come to know
You're a beautiful dream I've waited to dream
I'd conquer you a kingdom if you'd be my queen

Yes, I'm always thankful
For how you're so graceful
With you make me feel
And blessed to know that it's real

So many years, scared of love
Moving around from push to shove
Scared that maybe somebody might love me
For who I am and that real love might save me

And now I am coming to realize and find
That those years were spent running blind
And now I have come to realize and find
That you're the one that I've always wanted to find

First Principles: Act Worthy of Yourselves

“Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rests the happiness and Liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.”  – Joseph Warren (1775)

Natural Collaboration of Lights

Okay.. so it’s a stretch.  But, since I’m always grateful for art and artistic endeavors, this will be my poem of gratitude #26:

Baja Sands - Light House Memories

Natural Collaboration of Lights
by Michael Romani

Water falls
Like the passage of time
The angle calls
Into the sublime

Love of nature
Becomes love for the view
Though as we mature
It becomes more about less than few

The few given space
In acts of collaboration
As beauty shares its grace
Like a rainbow's procrastination

In telling its colorful tale
There in the spectrum of light
A weather wash that prevails
Changing the sea of our sight

There's no need to be the same
To share in the same space
Playing life like a child's game
Giving each other thankful grace

Grateful For A Quest Completed

A poem of gratitude #25:

The Arabesque Cafe - Its Been A Hard Day's Knight

Grateful For A Quest Completed
by Michael Romani

Life has at best
One most important quest
It begins at the start
By the opening of one's heart

There in a box filled
With the best revealed
Of many treasured memories
With small touches of reveries

It's in the gratitude for these
And all of which pleases
That we begin with the incomprehensible
And make all of these things possible

There is nothing greater
Neither now, past or later
Than here's someone's belief
To warm the heart back from grief

Pure hearts wish to live love
As something sacred as above
Two hearts joined as one
Never to be again undone

At least as it is seen
And must be believed in
That love is the first knightly virtue
And it is what I will always feel for you

This the deepest of holiday magic
To believe any less would be simply tragic
Eternal devotion is the truest quest
It is in your love that I will find my rest

Thought For the Day: A Lot of Troubles In the World Would Be Alleviated By Talking To Each Other and Not About Each Other

“I’ve always believed that a lot of the trouble in the world would disappear if we were talking to each other instead of about each other.” – Ronald Reagan
