Dracul’s Prey

The real Dracul was as deadly perhaps as the Bram Stoker monster.  But what if they were one in the same?

Nocturne-Vampire the Masquerade II

Dracul's Prey
by Michael Romani

The clan of the dragon
Is one founded in corruption
Dracul meaning the dragon
Brough a blood bath's disruption

Causing two mighty empire's to war
For the sake mostly of the taste of blood
Though some might dare say for a little more
For which thousands died mired in the mud

He was skilled, a master of deception
Seducing all who knew him astray
Such evil is hard to conceive in conception
But down the centuries, he has had his way

The killer is coldly skilled in predation
As he hunts his prey in the moonlit night
Keeping each of them wickedly in isolation
Calling from the darkness into the light

Pray that he does not find you
Abandoned to your lonely travail
For he shall surely drain you
And you will not live to tell the tale

First Principles: Weep For Liberty When You See Corruption Imputed To Many Member of the House of Representatives

“I weep for the liberty of my country when I see at this early day of its successful experiment that corruption has been imputed to many members of the House of Representatives, and the rights of the people have been bartered for promises of office.” – Andrew Jackson

Rose’s Thorn

Halloween Poem #3

Nox Atra - A Murder of Crovus

Rose's Thorn
by Michael Romani

The rose's thorn bled it's blood
Chosen to drag my soul through the mud
Clever thought I in the transparency
Lost in its morbid transcendency

Condemned to the darkened dust
Struggling in parlance as I must
Formidable as a dancer of danger
Forever lost in the eyes of strangers

Nerves shattered lost within the wheel
The cycle turns until the point of still
The shock and horror of a swift blade drawn
A vicious beauty always overcomes brawn

It's in the world's defilement that we are lost
With so very few realizing the truth of cost
And whose to say who it is that is the wrong
In this world where we must learn to be strong

Unkempt he was and drunk as barstool lush
She promised her ways with enchanted blush
Who was to blame if her ways were cruel
With a twist of her blade all he does is drool

Thought For the Day: The Whole Heart Solution

Three times the number of people in the US and Canada are dying from heart disease than any form of cancer. That’s a sad fact. Personally sadder for me is that I am facing down this beast at the moment.

Children of the World - Rooted In the Heart

In this light, I want to suggest a book that so far seems to be well written and very helpful. The encouraging thing is that the author, Joel K. Kahn, MD, is very strong in his advocation of how much of controlling and overcoming this malady is within our direct control.

The book that I have only just started is “The Whole Heart Solution: Halt Heart Disease Now With the Best Alternative and Traditional Medicine”. I am loving that he advocates a blend of both schools. I think balance is nearly always a good, helpful and indeed healthful approach.
