Thought of the Day: Life Is Like A Box of Crayons

We could all take a lesson from crayons: some are sharp, some are beautiful, some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they still learn to live in the same box.”* Robert Fulghum

Eyes Like A Child
by Michael Romani

The world seen
With eyes like a child
Where being busy
Is being
Happy to explore
The close and the far
The city and the wild
Spent in wonder
Sometimes dizzy
And where wishing on a star
Is never quite the blunder
As when we become adults
Hoping for the same results
But no longer willing to believe
Perhaps its all in how we perceive
Then after all -
It's time to recall
The world seen
With eyes like a child

*After several searches, I can neither confirm nor deny that the quote used in the  Thought of the Day may be accurately attributed to Robert Fulghum.  It still remains a thought well worth sharing … and so I did.

Wish there was a like button…now I have to write something. 🙂 This is beautiful on so many levels, seeing the world from the eyes of a child, the quote about crayons (whether correctly attributed or not), and then the reminder of crayons themselves – colors, shapes, creativity, acceptance, embracing the different, and painting our world. Thank you for a very lovely poem to start the morning.

    • Thanks, Eva!! Still some things I need to work out on this blogging. If you click on the title of future posts, it pulls up a version with a like button and some other things. When you don’t, it isn’t there. Not sure what that’s about. I’ll have to explore. 🙂 The other thing I’m still trying to work out is how I have drop down menus from my titles so that I can have things arranged a little neater than a stream of whatever I write and/or post. Thanks for stopping by!! (glad to have given you some cause to pause and smile..)
