“Writing—the art of communicating thoughts to the mind, through the eye—is the great invention of the world…—great, very great in enabling us to converse with the dead, the absent, and the unborn, at all distances of time and of space.” – Abraham Lincoln

One Response to Thought For the Day: Writing Is the Great Invention of the World

  1. I have never heard this quote before. Thank you so much for sharing. It is wonderful. I have been thinking about the multiple uses of writing lately, and this tops it off! Writing can be used in so many different ways. A great example of this quote was when I wrote a letter to my cousin after he had passed away. It was therapeutic to feel like I could still talk with him even after he passed away. Also, I think the use of of blogging or journaling can have so many therapeutic aspects to it because it can help us see our life through a different perspective by observing and getting our words down on paper (or the computer in this case).
