Remembering back to my days as a neophyte
Attracted as I was to the gloss of the neon light
It seems like only the day before yesterday
When I learned of video games and how to play
It’s a different world that we live in now
With everyone’s eyes fixed on games somehow
Muddling through without much of a conception
Of what life might have been in recent recollection
When collecting stamps or coins or photographs
Were the journey on our mentally mapped paths
Instead of collecting a higher highest score
And somehow I think the world is a bit more poor
For all these mental riches that are now available
And I for one remember of the more that we capable
