Aloha Promises Forever has previously discussed the life and importance of English playwright William Shakespeare.  King Lear is a tragedy written by Shakespeare that depicts King Lear’s descent into madness after disposing his kingdom and bring tragedy to all involved.  It is a tale derived from the legendary Leir of Britain – a pre Roman Celtic king.    The first known performance of this story was on St Stephen’s Day, December 26, 1606.
