Time Spent With the Harvard Classics: Montaigne – Essays

Aloha Promises Forever has touched base on the lift and legacy of Michel Eyquem de Montaigne previously.  He is considered one of the most significant philosophers of the French Renaissance and is recognized for popularizing the essay as a literary genre. In his essays, he is particularly noted for mixing anecdotes and autobiography with intellectual insight.

Montaingne’s classic work The Essays  are contained in three books and 107 chapters of varying length.  His stated purpose for writing these was record some of his traits and his humor.  These essays cover a wide range of topics and may be read at:
