First Principles: All Slavery Should Be Held In Abhorrence

“Every measure of prudence, therefore, ought to be assumed for the eventual total extirpation of slavery from the United States. … I have, throughout my whole life, held the practice of slavery in … abhorrence.” – John Adams (1819)

The Founding Fathers sought to legally abolish slavery.  Today we are taught differently.  Why is that?

Today, there are more slaves than at any point in human history.  The Founding Fathers are disparaged at every opportunity.  We hear almost nothing of the existing slavery.  Why is that?
