The Eyes of the Lord
by Michael Romani

Over and over the Bible tells
What the eyes of God reveals
Every way that we might turn
There in every lesson learned

All of His children are seen
Measuring each human being
Seeking righteously in sight
That seeks for us to do right

Giving cause for our integrity
Living out this blessed legacy
This is required by each and all
Everyone who answers His call

Humbled by His attention
We prosper in this retention
Showered in love that is true
His eyes are watching me and you

Like the children we have become
Our father loves us all, not just some
His eyes and ears seek our good
Better than any earthly father would

Adopted there on that rugged cross
He keeps His watch as storms toss
Keeping us safely and wholly redeemed
His grace is sweeter than we've dreamed

With blameless hearts we embrace
While looking into God's loving face
With the love of His favor
Sheltered in kindness that we can savor

The eyes of the Lord are those of grace
As these take in our living, loving place
God then as always takes our measure
And in so doing finds His beloved treasure
