Every child knows what it is like to be scared of the dark. As do many, adult still. Some for more real reasons than others. But, fear is an emotion not reason, right?
To Be Scared of the Dark by Michael Romani Footsteps Creak in the darkness Our enemies Are here with their harshness And all that is habitual Every fetish, every ritual Are locked in this madness God has His plan Permeated with our sadness Even a hero knows Regardless of how it shows What it is to be scared of the dark The night crawlers crawl As we flee down the hall With our faces white as ashes We listen while something inside thrashes The voices inside Say there is nowhere to hide Still we whisper our prayers Sitting in semi-circles and stare Outwardly into the night Assembled in fright Even the hero knows fear of the night And stands guard until the breaking of light (c) October 12, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
