In Memory of D-Day

God bless those who lived and died for liberty all those many years ago.  Peace is that better place we would all prefer to live.  Dying is the price some are willing to pay so that others might have that peace.

Remembering  when

To back then

We had so much to live for

And less willing to die for

But we would die if we must

To live up to our sacred trust

We give our all in the name of liberty

We were soldiers then

We were soldiers then

Tear mist our aging eyes

As we wait for the sunrise

Giving honor to our brothers

We gave all for each other

We were soldiers then

We were soldiers then

My brother died in my arms

Forsworn to protect from harm

I watched as he bled out

Worth it all, he had no doubt

We were soldiers then

We were soldiers then
