First Principles: The Real Man Smiles In Trouble, Smiles In Trouble, Gathers Strength From Distress and Grows Brave By Reflection

“The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection.” – Thomas Paine

Allowing of the context of the mores of the time and circumstances, please extrapolate this to his real meaning, ‘real people with true character’ do these things as is so called for today in the face of contemporary politics including the mishandling and mischaracterization of the handling of the coronavirus.   Many on the left believe that we should not leave any crisis not fully exploitated.  This is a recipe for disaster for our nation and our world.  Let’s not fall for a political ruse and instead manage the events instead of allowing the events to manage us.
