The for the fourth day of NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo 2020 is:
“…to write a poem based on an image from a dream”.
… and so I did….
In A Still Sleeping Place Inside My Head by Michael Doyle The feeling comes so vivid and so very hard As if life had dealt its wild card Ripping the world a new wormhole Connected as we are soul to soul Times like these don't really hunt In a world of always getting what you want Jacked into a deeper sense of relevancy There at the center point of intimacy I knew a mermaid once in her dream The mind's dominion belonging to a god supreme Where only those who are bold enough Can ever truly reach out to live enough Unmasking, as it were, those things thought evil Ratcheting up experience to a whole new level Waltzing into a combined synchronization As we float above and below in integration With everything that is real and unreal Just beneath the swirl of waxen seal Going with that feeling spun into reeling Until its urgency stands revealing What might we all someday become If we can learn to dream beyond the numb Married to one another, merging beyond fear Where happiness and sadness join in one tear At the count of one, it has all begun As we drift with purpose into being undone This is what happens as the angels sing Dissonant choruses of what fear brings The lame shall learn to walk once again Into the beauty that is both foe and friend Running there through the slumbered twilight Energy flowing until dark becomes light Dancing as we dance in circumstance For the dreamers who dream their own chance Black and white covered in a drop of red In that place where hope overcomes dread (c) April 4, 2020 Michael Doyle All Rights Reserved
