Day 19 of Na/GloPoWriMo 2020 and the goal is a poem about a collection of whatever subject matter picked up along a walk. After a myriad of ideas, good and possibly not so good, I have gone with being true to myself. I have literally taken over 55,000+ photographs in my adult life. Some 32,000 of these are on my Flickr. How do I get these I thought and the tiny voice inside my head reminded me.. from walking and collecting all the visual moments that capture my mind’s eye and then my camera.
Collection Recollection by Michael Doyle Raising my eyes Camera captures the skies A thousand lights Fill my summer nights Hopes swirl and then rise As I photograph full skies I've never seen this Without thinking of your kiss The photographs are mine Shared with the world to shine Reminds me of a safer time And the hillsides we would climb A collection of recollection Literally thousands waiting for inspection Memories caught in digital Mindscapes of the physical God is the greatest artist, I said And think on now as I sit on my bed Wondering at all this self-isolation Spread across the breadth of our nation (c) April 19, 2020 Michael Doyle All Rights Reserved
