Fool’s Errand

Arguing with those we love is maybe sometimes natural.  But, it’s a fool’s errand.  There can be very little good in having to be right just to make the person you love somehow wrong.   Especially in the modern age, it takes a lot of love to make what it takes to make things work.  This is what I have in Desiree and what she has in me.

Home, Sweet, Home - Make Up Conversation

Fool's Errand
by Michael Doyle

It's a foolish thing
Filled with hurt to bring
Fussing and fighting
Is never the right thing

It's a fool's errand
That is always tearing
Up the heart that you love
I know what I'm thinking of

That I want to love you
Completely and wholly as I do
Finding our way to harmony
Days spent in tranquility

It's a foolish thing
Filled with hurt to bring
Fussing and fighting
Is never the right thing

I know that I miss your kiss
When our little things are amiss
You are the heart of my heart
That I don't want to ever depart

You are the dream of my dreams
My elfin queen of a million scenes
That bit of magic that I need
The one whose words I love to read

It's a foolish thing
Filled with hurt to bring
Fussing and fighting
Is never the right thing

As I sit across at the table
Watching your eyes as I'm able
I read the thoughts I need to hear
The ones that make me always stay near

You are my forever, my darling lady
With ever touch I know you made me
Be that better man that I should be
My elf, my love my living memory

We will walk this life together
Avoiding the worse, keeping it better
And know that you are always safe with me
You need to know you are my truth and fantasy
