A Good Feeling About...

It looks like we're in for nasty weather
God knows that you and I deserve better
Plotted courses are always subject to change
It's the simple way of life and nothing stranger

Spin offs and rip offs serve to distract
In this life lived constantly under attack
Slight adjustments can feel like a lot
But, if we roll with the flow, they're soon forgot

Here we are, stumbled in the same direction
I know that we both feel this connection
Rolling along as soon as we're ready
Across life's mine fields we hold steady

Rushed scenes of passion oft mistaken for compassion
Are often disjointed as is standard fashion
In this world that is too often unfair
But, for which we have only our dreams to compare

Our lives are our canvasses of the heart
Ever moving forward to do our utmost part
Keeping the moving toward in our best direction
Hoping our flaws avoid the outside's detection

Instead of melodramatically staying stuck
We find hard work makes our best sort of luck
Never afraid that anything is truly impossible
Still, it's best to stay within the probable

To stay within the studio for the sake of art
Is really putting the horse before life's cart
We have to go out and get into life's slick mix
Elsewise, we find that we have created our own fix

No matter how it seems that it's been a bum rush
And life is coming at us harshly seeming too much
It's not so hard to be the hero is this scene
As long as we believe in our own dreams

All of us wonder as to our deepest inspiration
Lost in wondering at our sometimes pointless motivation
But then, when the final cut comes to us all
Let it be that we've observed our muse and did not fall
