Fold

LEA17 -The Tarot Gaden - is It In the Cards?
Fold
by Michael Doyle

The gambler's cards folded
As variables at last decoded
In this digital age, it's the human mind
That must last be decoded or left behind

In mankind's bid at immortality
Despite the babbled towers of immorality
In the worst of infernal quests
To put living forever to the test

Free will, it may seem a mistake
Some hold to this as illusions break
Too much freedom knows its misery
Disguised as it is as total liberty

The pleasure of this story
Isn't to be revealed in all its glory
But in discerning its end
To this truth we might lend

As heir of this transcendence
A lesson earned that might lend its
Virtuosity in having been told
In days of yore when we were once not as old

This is the way of all true promises made
From which we should not be afraid
Look deeply into life's narrow eyes
Learn what is there to recognize

In our suffering, we are set free
It is said with a twinkle of immortality
Is it worth taking the time to help surmise
What lacks the will to survive?

It’s A Sunday Conversation

House of Prayer - Sunday Afternoon ServicesI II
It's A Sunday Conversation
by Michael Doyle

There's something to give attention
We're all living in the tension
We are not here for entertainment
But we are here for engagement

Filtered in God's holy perception
Standing in worship, giving our reception
It is not the how in which we express it
But it is in how we do address it

It's a Sunday morning conversation
Going on across the best of our nation
Anchored on the Word of God in every way
As we live through our day-to-day

Some of us carry labels in this game
That must change and and not stay the same
Changing our shame into God's good grace
And through God's love that we embrace

We are living on this side of history
Where the evidence is no longer a mystery
When all proof has been clearly seen
Blessed and content as living human beings

When you become too passive
The fallacies we fall for might be massive
Paying a price that is unaffordable
If we do not hold ourselves accountable

In all that we do, God sees you and me
What we do with this tells us who we'll be
We cannot let our fallacies become legacy
But through right intention, we create our history

Let's not sow blessings into corrupt soil
But instead be known for the righteousness we toil
Church life is meant to be Biblical community
And by this to nurture our godly continuity

Let's serve with love to promote durability
A conversation that supports capability
Living prayer in each and every moment
To bring blessings that ease every torment

This amen is meant to flow as we let it be
Just as it should be and we know it could be
Dreaming dreams of tremendous possibility
In this we bring fruit to our godly legacy

The Importance of the Word

A Thousand Words -A Good Read and A Bit of Woods
The Importance of the Word
by Michael Doyle

In this roll of years
Softly past the flowing tears
I think on words sought
To connect the dot-to-dot

The words in mind
I seek and sometimes find
That words are culture
And culture is the we nurture

Slipped into this elasticity
Is a solid sense of complexity
That seals the bond
As thoughts float over distant ponds

Symbolically displayed
Words are thoughts played
Learning sleep is the cousin of death
I mumble this under my breath

Trying my best to refine
What's difficult to define
That without words to be thought
There'd be no thoughts to be sought

Brought to the table that makes up me
And if I did not think, I would not be
Without culture there is not meaning
What then lies behind a community's being?

I don't mean to placidly grumble
But as theories start to crumble
My quest for knowledge begins to thirst
As I ask politely, "(W)hich came first"?

Just as suddenly, it's occurred
In the beginning was the Word
The Word was God, and was God
Now, isn't that odd?

First Principles: So Long As the People Do Not Care To Exercise Their Freedom, Those Who Wish to Tyrannize Will Do So

“So long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men.” – Voltaire (1694-1778)

Moonkyst and the Twisted Fae

Fantasy Faire - The Fairchylde
Moonkyst and the Twisted Fae
by Michael Doyle

In the early morning mist
We dream our dreams moonkyst
it's a fantasy, some might say
But it gets us through another day

Some dance the dance of twisted fae
While the music plays; they sway
As if it might bring back yesterday
True or not, it's better this way

To believe in things for the best
While heads lay on pillow to rest
Believing can make it all come true
When seen through the eyes of whimsical view

It doesn't hurt a soul to dream
Or to play out life like it's a silver screen
Moonkyst moments know their reverie
Where memories become the last fantasy

And if this somehow brings a smile
Isn't that, after all, worth the while
To remember back to childhood days
When reality mattered less than the games to play
