Thought For the Day: Kindness In Ourselves Is the Honey That Blunts the Sting of Unkindness In Another

Hands Tell the Story

Blue Hour Winter Holiday Village - You Give Me Your Hands, You Give Me Your Heart, I Give You My Soul
Hands Tell the Story
by Michael Doyle

Smooth and sultry
The jazz flautist
Smooths out her lines
Soothing like a silk mystery
The jazz flautist
Blows our minds

While somewhere
In that over there
A man watches a woman
Wishing he might persevere
And didn't know the fear
Like only a man in love can

Asking himself
If he didn't know her
Would he still love her
There are no answers on the shelf
When these subtle lines blur
But the truth of the answer still occurs

Smooth and sultry
The jazz flautist
Smooths out her lines
Soothing like a silk mystery
The jazz flautist
Blows our minds

Vows exchange with a smile
Her head on his shoulder
Whispers her hints of happiness
Though it seems out of style
Except for those who are bolder
And see past the emptiness

Slept away in the step away
Looking forward to each good morning
Messages texted on a cellphone
Each day leads the way to what stays
Never pausing and no need for warning
The comfort of two hears in the zone

Smooth and sultry
The jazz flautist
Smooths out her lines
Soothing like a silk mystery
The jazz flautist
Blows our minds

First Principles: A Good Moral Character Is the First Essential In Mankind…You Should Endeavor Not Only To Be Learned But Virtuous

“[A] good moral character is the first essential in a man, and that the habits contracted at your age are generally indelible, and your conduct here may stamp your character through life. It is therefore highly important that you should endeavor not only to be learned but virtuous.” – George Washington, letter to Steptoe Washington, 1790

Artful In Implication

Hypnotic Van Gogh Experience - Just Another Ear On the Wall
Artful In Implication
by Michael Doyle

All art is broad in its implication
But tell me please the explanation
As today's surrealism perks making us ill
While twisting everyday into a monstrous chill

Unsettling images of disquieting sensory
Experiences abound here at the end of history
Beyond the borders of grotesque representation
The private horrors spike the imagination

There on the whims of the artist's psychic automatism
As if someone brought out the worst in hypnotism
Processing the demons burning into the mind infernal
Fantasies blurred from internal outward into the external

Radically nonconformist in challenge against pressure
Striking boldly against the regimes found repressive
Lovers of freedom are eaten alive in a feeding frenzy
Those who thirst for power have no use for needed mercy

There is charm in the humor used to reach as it unnerves
The lessons introduced are as rich as what these serve
Confronting the confounding can be found in complexity
These are unsettling needed voices spoken with integrity

All the more trending from violence into violation
The artists dab at canvas independent of any commission
A discomforted distraction becomes it's own legacy
Here in the tale of surrealism's own unique history

Rapid fire visual intakes splattered as the whole
Each stroke of the brush taking on its own precise role
Self-deprecatory and severed into immaculate distortion
Each slice of the picture formed becomes its own portion

All art is broad in its forms of implication
Therein it is that we find what passes for explanation
As today's surrealism serves the purpose of tale
Hoping through its monstrosity to yet have truth prevail

Thought For the Day: The More Sand That Has Escaped From the Hourglass of Our Life, the Clearer We Should See Through It

First Principles: Where There Is No Law, There Is No Liberty;…Nothing Deserved the Name of Law But That Which Is Certain and Universal In Its Operation Upon All

“Where there is no law, there is no liberty; and nothing deserves the name of law but that which is certain and universal in its operation upon all the members of the community.” – Benjamin Rush (1788)

We see this evidenced everywhere that Soros financed District Attorneys are failing to enforce law and in every corner of society in which police officers are being ‘defunded’ or otherwise maligned.

The Sting of A Yellow Jacket

Campfire Stories @ The Bay - Mischief Walks the Night Alone
The Sting of A Yellow Jacket
by Michael Doyle

Naughty narrative braids together
A story of coming of age but better
Two tracks made into one story
Neither of them qualifying for glory

High school drama can be brutality
Even without its incessant fatality
As childhood comes to its ends
It becomes harder to tell who is a friend

In a lethal stew of hormones and gore
There is the question that implores
Why is it an endless absurdity to process
However ennobled are the intentions we profess

The time in the woods, it still lingers
As our dreams slipped through our fingers
The growing pains of childhood left its scars
As we laid back counting wished on stars

Campfire sparks itself into dying embers
As if it was funny that no one remembers
All the things we swore to one another
Are now just dreams we've long since smothered

An instability stings itself into the anarchy
As watched threads dissemble from the hierarchy
A cannibalistic cult transforms from the start
As friends tear each other savagely far apart

Losing touch with all that was once thought true
It's compelling to watch the negotiation in view
Anxieties grind into the twists of the ironic
Each believer clinging to what was once iconic

There is a simple barbarity to the complexity
That passes itself off as if it were simplicity
The indolence inside is the toxicity brewing
In its precise forms of emotional undoing

The time in the woods, it still lingers
As our dreams slipped through our fingers
The growing pains of childhood left its scars
As we laid back counting wished on stars

Campfire sparks itself into dying embers
As if it was funny that no one remembers
All the things we swore to one another
Are now just dreams we've long since smothered

Thought For the Day: An Unlimited Power To Tax Involves, Necessarily, A Power To Destroy; Because There Is A Limit Beyond Which No Institution and No Property Can Bear Taxation

“An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation.” – John Marshall, 1819
