Struck On A Bridge To Nowhere

Luna te Amo - Struck On A Bridge To Nowhere
Struck On A Bridge To Nowhere
by Michael Doyle

I'm struck on a bridge to nowhere
Looking for a bit of faithfulness
I'm stranded in an unfaithful world
Chasing around the circles and nobody cares
Suddenly seeing with sight for awareness
Feeling so completely fetaled and curled

I've got two eyes, refusing to see
The truth of the meaning for me
Walking wounded, it surrounds me
In a world without grace or pity
What is it that will become of me
When I no longer care to see

You talk about love, while living the hate
Darkness everywhere seals the fate
I wish I could offer you a smile
But my integrity won't grant that denial
You told me your heart was my home
This morning, I woke again, cold and alone

First Principles: To Judge From the History of Mankind, We Shall Be Compelled To Conclude That the Fiery and Destructive Passions of War Reign In the Human Breast

“To judge from the history of mankind, we shall be compelled to conclude that the fiery and destructive passions of war reign in the human breast with much more powerful sway than the mild and beneficent sentiments of peace.”– Alexander Hamilton (1788)

Thought For the Day: What’s Amazing Is President Biden Ran For Office As the Foreign Policy Expert

“What’s amazing is President Biden ran for office as the foreign policy expert … and yet look at how poorly planned this seems to be right now. It is a calamity playing out.” – The Washington Post’s Philip Rucker

This is how biased the Left Media is… read the following and I am not making up even the tiniest part of this:

“In wake of the his raging success in international diplomacy through the surgical precision of handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal, Joe Biden has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. Similar to how Barack Obama received the award for a comparable accomplishment in 2009, Joe Biden’s actions have made the world better, safer, more secure, and more diverse.

Joe Biden knew better than his advisors. He knew better than everyone who had spent their lives dealing with the constant turmoil in Afghanistan. Joe Biden’s experience and expertise in the area of foreign affairs lead him to singlehandedly end the war in Afghanistan. 20 years of progress has finally paid off.

Afghanistan is now safe. The state is stable. Thank you, Joe Biden, the award suits you.”

On Becoming Truly Human

Endless: Permafrost - Lost In Solitude

Based on 1 Corinthians 12:

On Becoming Truly Human
by Michael Doyle

On becoming human resplendent
We were never meant to be independent
But rather communal in the nature of our being
Living in a communion of love with all we’re seeing

Love is the essence of the truest theology
Locked heart into heart with the Holy Trinity
It’s the Christian life as a process of sanctification
On which we need to focus our utmost dedication

Vine and branches serve as a vivid illustration
Set before all as a simile of humble elocution
That one branch alone cannot make barreled wine
It takes an eternal vineyard to flourish as divine

Into the wine of a new life in its sacred overflowing
That moves beyond transcendent and into the knowing
And as its satisfying result, love grows for one another
Accepting as it is our walk as sister and as brother

For just as the body of Christ is one of many members
It serves us well when we keep our faith and remember
Quenching the thirst of all we believe and in what we think
As the Spirit keeps us right and away from the brink

Each of us is meant to be as we are and yet being a part
Connected as it is from the core and held together in heart
The whole of it is the sum of us fit together as one body
And in fitting together we serve well our place in God’s family

From all of this, it is easy enough to see that which we should
That all is in accordance with God’s plan and working for good
And Christ is the sufficiency to carry us through our trials
Regardless of how heavy the burden nor how long the miles

May It Come Easy (The Promise of Turkey)

Vibes Gallery -Coffee Drop In
May It Come Easy (The Promise of Turkey)
by Michael Doyle

In affection and camaraderie
We wish in sincere empathy
And with just a trace of sympathy
That with life, may it come easy

Change is the constant in all of life
Sometimes there is peace; sometimes strife
Though the scenes may be inclement
Each turn we turn, is kept in its element

A nation takes its change in uncertainty
As a lesson having some sense of urgency
That we all hope, that it may yet come easy
Yet, this is seldom the track of history

Lived as a neighbor stuck as it is in the middle
With the chance for escape being precious little
As days are quickly sipped with a strong dark coffee
Sweet as love, poured so that it may come easy

Thought For the Day: I’d Rather See A Sermon Than Hear One Any Day; I’d Rather One Should Walk With Me Than Merely Tell the Way

Thought For the Day: Liberty, Or the Absence of Coercion, Or the Leaving People To Think, Speak, and Act As They Please, Is In Itself A Good Thing

“Liberty, or the absence of coercion, or the leaving people to think, speak, and act as they please, is in itself a good thing. It is the object of a favourable presumption. The burden of proving it inexpedient always lies, and wholly lies, on those who wish to abridge it by coercion, whether direct or indirect.” – John Morley (1838-1923)

First Principles: To Preserve Liberty, It Is Essential That the Whole Body of the People Always Possess Arms, and Be Taught Alike, Especially When Young, How To Use Them

“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.” – Federal Farmer (1787)

Truths Seen

Juneteenth Celebration - Eiteljorg Museum - Proclaiming the Truth
Truths Seen
by Michael Doyle

Silent cries
Strident alibis
Truths seen
For human beings
Can be mortifying
As we live death defying
Taking risks at every turn
We live as we learn
Careful from feeling the burn
Yet, it is that we still yearn

The world keeps on turning
Never certain what we're learning
Coming to terms with what is done
In flying too close to the sun
Each the other's dancer
As we struggle to find the answer
That we almost never find
Burnt fingers left to remind
We should be careful with the fire
As we lose ourselves to things we desire
