The Twinkle In Your Eyes

Paradise on Sea - A Kiss On the Rocks
The Twinkle In Your Eyes
by Michael Doyle

Looking into the twinkle in your eyes
Truth is told simply without any alibis
I love the way you hold me close at night
And even closer with the morning's light

Two hearts learning to beat as our one
Loving you is easier with each passing sun
Your tenderness melts away my fears
Your laugh erases my worries and my tears

A lifetime spent would be to short to say
Anything deeper than my love for you today
When we dance, I feel your body sway
And I have nothing deeper than to say

I want to spend the rest of my life loving you
Because of who you are and all that you do
I want to sing to you love songs you want to hear
But most of all, I know I'll always want you near

Seems that the God I worship has given me this chance
And every moment with you, I spend in a trance
Hypnotized by your eyes and your heart's beat
My dear, you are so loving, tender and sweet

Thought of the Day: The Road Goes Ever On and On

“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began,
Now far ahead the Road has gone
And I must follow, if I can. “

– J.R.R. Tolkien

Knowing of the Why

Nostalgia Falls 2020
Knowing of the Why
by Michael Doyle

I believe I know the why
Of why a weeping willow cries
When there was no time for goodbye
And that's the case for each of us who dies

Even in the best case of stability
There lies the uncanny probability
That the worth of love is in the risk of losing
And we do this from own choosing

There are the truths that serve us most
Each of us hiding from our inner ghosts
Gathered around for one more story
Told with great flourish and all the glory

The best ghost stories find home in the country
These are the tales that chill you and me
Served with a beverage to sip and quietly drink
To warm the heart while giving time to think

Caught within the ambiguity of question
Is how such imperfections are accepted without hesitation
What lies beyond the ease of our living illusion
And is it something to be accepted in its defusion

If one is the good then how about reaching for two
With the air of a mystery without a clue
Thoughts that bring a night to its illuminated end
In a wondering of what's just beyond the bend

It's a bit of a run on and on situation
Given in spurts of death by cold imagination
The superstition finds it's storied voice
When people die, some even by tragic choice

Getting To the Photographer’s Prize

Brown County State Park Autumn 10132020
Getting To the Photographer's Prize
by Michael Doyle

If you don't want to be left in the lurch
It is always best to start with research
Trying to find the photo with something to say
Cannot best be left to an improvised day

There is not time in life's presentation
To put up with the mental aggravation
Of hearing, "you should have been here yesterday"
Stuck like a deer in the headlights of what to say

You cannot shoot what just isn't there
That seems at worse abundantly clear
It comes down to the web and email
When we just have to know the details

There's a magic in nonverbal communication
When we need access and intimation
Wearing that proverbial smile on your face
Is one of the best ways to get others to embrace

That dream you wish to share and to show
Giving your best so that others might know
It's often about making that connection
To take the unique from the best direction

Finding the places visually loaded
Is the photographer's blessing exploded
Taking the time for the right opportunity
In the focused game in all of its capacity

The secret is that homework equals access
To the intrigue and dazzle others possess
Never forgetting that photographer is the guest
Of those who hold the keys to all of the best

Getting to the great is a function of time
It's as simple as this; nothing quite sublime
Shooting beyond the obvious captures the surprise
And then the prize worthy of the observer's eyes

Thought For the Day: Create Now A Political Court To Echo the Ideas of the Executive and You Have Created A Weapon…That Can Cut Down Those Guarantees of Liberty…and Extinguish Your Right of Liberty, of Speech, of Thought, of Action and of Religion

“Create now a political court to echo the ideas of the executive and you have created a weapon . . . that can cut down those guarantees of liberty written into your great documents by the blood of your forefathers and that can extinguish your right of liberty, of speech, of thought, of action, and of religion.” – Burton K. Wheeler, Democrat and ardent New Dealer speaking against FDR’s packing of the Court to get his questionable programs through more quickly…

There is a significant and hugely important difference between appropriately filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court and talk of packing the Court after the election if the Democratic Party candidate runs. We will leave alone the fact that Mr. Biden keeps stating that he is running for Senate. Figurehead or not, if he wins the presidency, packing the court is certainly allowed under the Constitution but would over turn the traditions of our country held since approximately 1869 of having nine seated justices. When last attempted by FDR to aggressively push his Progressive agenda forward, even other New Dealers, such as Senator Burton K. Wheeler, rightly asserted this to be a dangerous matter that was subversive of the freedoms held dear by and in America. The Court is not a toy to be politicized.

Please read the following to better understand the implicit dangers of being complicit with this sort of morbid, political ploy. If this is moved on, our great nation will have indeed become a banana republic, America only in name not in principles nor in truth. The death knell of our nation will be sounded. With a last gasp, this grasp for political power will be too much and we will very likely be in a civil war. One in which thousands of Veterans will fight to our dying breaths if necessary to regain our cherished republic.
