A Pale Death

Halloween Poem #17:

SL14B Beguile - London City Gateway at SL14B - Stilted View

A Pale Death
by Michael Romani

The end of days descends
Like a fog from hell that ascends
On us all a thick as it can be
As we dance away our sanity

Lilith asks for one last kiss
A plea hard for any man to dismiss
It's these scraps of dignity
That whittle away at our mortality

The Lord's prayer offers small comfort
Toward which we might wish to comport
Memories in a distant garden's grace
If only the foul air did not embrace

The has filled us to our very core
While we graciously await at death's door
Even the most dazzling star loses its glow
Though traces of it linger on for the show

Stabbed through the heart, evil lingers on
Beckoning at the wildest innocence until gone
Trappings of need in all of its fatality
Haunts us once we have glimpsed at immortality

It is better to die where we stand on our feet
However much the thought is bittersweet
Than to live a lifetime on one's scarred knees
Before this thought, all of holiness flees

With one last kiss, the demon takes her breath
Guiding her to her moment of pale death
Embraced inside the monster's strong arms
It seems at last that life has lost its charms

Dracula’s Bride

Halloween Poem #12:

[Eclectica] A New Dawn The Moon Brought To Light

Dracula's Bride
by Michael Romani

The master does not want as she has given
Feasted into blood, never to be forgiven
An eternal kiss shared in the late night
As betrayer of truth and hater of light

All the night creatures live to come out
Lifting unreasoned voices into a shout
Coming out at the bidding to have their play
Hoping wantonly for this chance to slay

Beware the swift scorpion's dreaded sting
All the poison and the death it brings
A spider's fly on walled web does stick
Burnt down into the candle's quick

The city like a graveyard holds death
As the horror of fate takes away breath
There is no good to come from all of this
The souls of angels betrayed with his kiss

Darkness as a wedding gift for Dracula's bride
Who chose to be herself for the sake of pride
No one is left to remember yesterday as it was
Because simply, wicked is as wicked does

Death Under the Moon

Halloween Poem #16:

The Promise - Moon Shine Crescent

Death Under the Moon
by Michael Romani

With our demons friended
All light has ended
We walk in the darkness
Keenly aware of our harshness

Such is the power and insistence
That good gives way without resistance
Like creatures of the night we feed
Our true selves finally known, we are freed

The fog fill London night
Is our realm of sheer fright
Such is our kingdom's glory
This then is pestilence's story

Delivered with a kiss
Daylight is no longer missed
Secrets of nerves gone steeled
Our conceits no longer hidden but revealed

By the darkened ravaged bits of truth
We are delivered to our eternal youth
We shine like death under the full moon
Satisfied that weak mortals will know our wrath soon

Twist of the Kissed

Halloween Poem #14 (written on 10/13/2019 so really number 13.. how unlucky that I fell behind on posting like that….or as my little girls say.. “Or, did I?”)

Twist of the Kissed
by Michael Romani

We prize the things most
When we've lost them
Soulless, ethereal as ghost
Our inner light grows dim

Nightwork spills its blood
Knowing so very little grace
Instead wallowing in the mud
Turned about on its face

Shadow falls from the window
With its hand pressed on the wall
Dark as death's true rainbow
We await the master's call

The house of the dark night
Lies in its tragedy of sight
Man and monster, both with a twist
Misguided love served so venomously kissed

Change of View

Halloween Poem# 13 – Ageless evil rejects the revolution fomented by his creature wishing instead to mold her into his image and not allow her own beast to be victorious.

Bontanica - Death Is No Excuse To Stop Dancing

Change of View
by Michael Romani

The wild eyes of revolution
Each certain of their superior evolution
Blood stained clatter of slices
Deep into souls and gray matters

Serve but to bore the super-man
Who outdoes us all as he can
Living mostly for the thrill of it all
Heeding only the sirens' eternal call

The crowds are meant for the guillotine
Dying for bread; not knowing what it means
As the decadence is the noise of the Byzantine
All within the fever of a nightmare's scream

Spoiled children speak of self anointing
But in the end, it's all so very disappointing
Cosmic darkness requires the truest mastery
But instead you have impishly created catastrophe

You and your army of uttermost depravity
Will never hold a clue or turn the key
One of us must clearly change their view
And with the Devil's care, it will be you
