Knock, Knock, Knocking

Watched a movie about some rockers that I kinda came up with in the world.  This came from that….

Club Sways - Rocky TooCool

Knock, Knock, Knocking
by Michael Romani

Pulsating beat
Keeps knock, knock, knocking
Out on the streets
We keep rock, rock, rocking

Can you feel it
We can't heal it
Wanna steal it
Just to thrill it

Switchblade
Serenade
Gasoline liquor
In a real shin kicker

Cutting my way
With every note that I play
Maybe better off dead
Than this hurt in my head

Pulsating beat
Keeps knock, knock, knocking
Out on the streets
We keep rock, rock, rocking

Living out on the streets
White hot flash of heart
Trading our licks
For new set of kicks

Chasing ghosts and then repeat
Thumping heart keeps the beat
Burning down our past
Just to live faster than fast

Living the dead end
Not even my own friend
I want to light up the night
Until the morning's light

Pulsating beat
Keeps knock, knock, knocking
Out on the streets
We kept rock, rock, rocking

With the drop a name
My life went up in flames
Changing my life with one word
And no, it never occurred

That despite the math
There could be another path
I was the moon's own child
Running free and wild

Spin it round and round
Lost and found in the sound
Soul shaken then stirred
All my thoughts are blurred

Pulsating beat
Keeps knock, knock, knocking
Out on the streets
We'll keep on rock, rock, rocking

First Principles: May We Never Sacrifice Our Liberties

“However weak our country may be, I hope we shall never sacrifice our liberties.” – Alexander Hamilton (1790)

Wouldn’t it be great if the Democrats would remember this?

Lunar Communion

As mankind took one step forward into space, God was remembered…

SL16B: Astonish - Back to the Moon

Lunar Communion
by Michael Romani

As soon as landing
Quietly yet planned
Communion was had
To make the Lord glad
There on the moon

One small step taken
Lord’s prayer unshaken
As we entered space
There at our embrace
A universe shared

Blood of Christ in cup
Where the down is up
Unleavened we break
Lord’s supper to take
Moon’s first communion

Thanks to Buzz Aldrin
We broke bread again
Commemoration
A declaration
Given so humble

Thought For the Day: The Bedrock Principle of Our Justice System Is A Presumption of Innocence

“It was not the special counsel’s job to conclusively determine Donald Trump’s innocence or to exonerate him because the bedrock principle of our justice system is a presumption of innocence. Donald Trump is not above the law, but he damn sure shouldn’t be below the law.”  – Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX), former US Attorney

First Principles: The Virtues of Men Are of More Consequence To Society Than Their Abilities

“The virtues of men are of more consequence to society than their abilities; and for this reason, the heart should be cultivated with more assiduity than the head.” – Noah Webster (1788)

Satan’s Kiss

Madness knows no mercy.

SL16B: Enchant - SecondHandTutti's Sweet 16 Dreams - Hand of the Butterfly

Satan's Kiss
by Michael Romani

Loneliness becomes her friend
The only one on which to depend
In a chosen profession of glory
A mild confession is given in story

To hold belief in once upon
As dreams are shared and then gone
To be true and to be strong
As if courage traces to where we belong

She sang in boldness on her funeral pyre
As the flames engulfed her in their fire
There in that certain sense of nobility
We find a key to mankind's wanton savagery

Cutting thoughts that cut through brains
The surgeon takes the madness that strains
Into broken things that are all that's left behind
In the barbarity of life we pretend and we find

That with no belief in God, there is no Devil
Lucifer's love is deception that's never level
There in the perpetual nod of twilight
It will lead our dreams into the dark of night

For too long, we've feared our creature
Afraid that we might disappear into the ether
The serpent tempts into strangulation
While the children cry in mercy for the nation

Before there was time, in the primeval mist
There was the power of Satan's betraying kiss
Like a scorpion sting in poisoning our tomorrow
Until finally, it was that she could only know sorrow

Essence of Turning

Life is a continuous cycle from the greatest to the smallest of all levels.  It is an exchange that always provides for the greater good even with all the bad along the way.

Essence of Turning
by Michael Romani

The essence of turning oceans
Into life giving rain
Pulls at our human emotions
Like a lyrical refrain

Without this watery exchange
The continents would be barren
Lifeless, twisted and somewhat strange
And, of course, there would be no one caring

Swirls of clouds offer their diversity
As day becomes night that becomes day
This is our earthly legacy
That passes as life's only known way

We thank our lucky stars for this
That our earth isn't a lifeless rock
And praise God above for all that we would miss
If there were no such things of which to talk

Our world was born from cosmic dust
Then washed by storm from above
Giving us our legacy of diamonds and rust
Showered as blessings with God's love
