The Veil Falls

That first sight.  You heart either implodes into the chemistry of it all.  Or, you sink into yourself and wonder at the missing spark.  Still, what an amazing concept to be resting in words alone and faith that true love prevails.

Angelheaven - True Love Joined At the Heart

The Veil Falls
by Michael Romani

Nervous for that first sight
Hoping that all will prove right
Don't want to let her down
Tied in knots chased around

It's not that we've neglected
Feelings that were not expected
Praying to keep ourselves steady
The veil falls as we're ready

Here we are at our first of show
Promises exchanged to never let go
The stirrings inside, we've invited
Both of us are more than excited

To see each other for the first time
To touch each other for the first time
On bended knee, we feel and we see
The true beauty felt so honestly

It's hard to believe this is real
With a kiss we melt as we feel
All our dreams within reach
It's an us together figure of speech

With each other's soul to soul
A crazy kind of magic spiraled on a roll
As we find each other's bliss
Our butterflies tumble into happiness

First Principles: It Is Better To Be Despised For Simplicity Than To Be Tormented By Continual Hypocrisy

“Virtue runs no risk of becoming contemptible by being exposed to view, and it is better to be despised for simplicity than to be tormented by continual hypocrisy.” – Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 BC-AD 65)

Bloomberg’s dismissive statements against farmers and rural life are shameful.  Added to those hateful statements about women in general but particularly his very own employees, this should be enough to disqualify the man from being a president for all people.  Moreover his reaction to angrily tell a pregnant employee to kill her child rather than miss work is beyond the pale.

Thought For the Day: Those To Whom Evil Is Done, Do Evil In Return

“I and the public know / What all schoolchildren learn, / Those to whom evil is done / Do evil in return.” – W.H. Auden, poet (21 Feb 1907-1973)

It might be better phrased that it’s best to act and do honorably by even your enemies.  It’s only love that can turn hate to love.  Hate can never turn hate to love.  As I was telling my eldest daughter the other day, love is the only real and best magic in the world.  Hate and evil only bring more hate and evil.  Best to always do good.

Casted Cares

A short devotional poem based on a short pier side devotional attended last night with Desiree:

House of Prayer -Joined Together In His Name

Casted Cares
by Michael Romani
Elijah spent his time of testing
Spent in the crucible never resting
Time spent alone where he confides
Talking with God from the inside
Every moment has its meaning
Always capable in all his being
Depending on the Lord’s provision
In the making of every decision
Just as Elijah, we have our plan
Every Christian woman and man
Purpose meant is the purpose kept
Despite the trials and tears wept
In our tears we grow into our trust
Learning all those things we must
Spent in the learning is the yearning
To do right in all we are discerning
This is the purpose of our destiny
Praised in the patience of our journey
Amen into the nevertheless of our end
Walking in life with God as our friend

Covenant (Hesed)

Of all love, there is one love that stands above all else.  In this world in which love has become a very conditional thing given the give way at any moment of discontent or raised temporal passion, covenant love (hesed) is one of loyalty and devotion.  It is the love that is the love as love should be.

Belliseria - Swithins Bridge - Benches In An Open Area

Covenant (Hesed)
by Michael Romani

Pausing with purpose and with temerity
We reflect on questions of our loyalty
All of us deep within God's family
Must understand the covenant of integrity

God loves us all fully and completely
His hesed is felt with deep authority
In the keeping of the promises of security
The presence of God is kept eternally

Sometimes it feels we live life on the run
That the Lord has forgotten us; we are undone
Sins considered though blinded in our eyes
We must keep trust with each passing sunrise

God's love is rich in its deep tender mercy
Despite our doubts and ill thought out heresy
His faithfulness is felt by us all so kindly
Even in times of life when things go so badly

God is pleased to give His greatest something
In return for our bits and pieces of almost nothing
Deserving in almost missing out on God's grace
Let our scales remove and accept His loving embrace

To love forever and without any real end
Is a noble endeavor that transcends
All the troubles we bravely endure
Such is God's hesed, undeserved yet pure

This is the good news of the gospel
That is the Lord's will not ours that prevails
As we wrestle on the life's stormy seas
And He delivers us from our aft seeming travesty

No one who turns to God is ever turned away
We earnestly rest in this promise every day
God's hesed promises are eternally given
With each and every believing heart forgiven

Thought For the Day: The World Is Flawed, Do Right Anyhow

“ The Paradoxical Commandments

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.”

First Principles: The Aim of Every Constitution Ought Be To Obtain Rule By Those Possessing the Discernment To Pursue Society’s Common Good

“The aim of every political constitution is, or ought to be, first to obtain for rulers men who possess most wisdom to discern, and most virtue to pursue, the common good of the society.” – James Madison (1788)
