First Principles: Guard Public Liberty Vigilantly Against Anyone Who Seeks To Encroach On This

“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.” – Patrick Henry, speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 5, 1778

Example given, the law the Democrats are seeking to impose that would infringe on citizens voting while allowing illegal aliens to vote in our elections.   We were warned about these day and these ploys and now they seek this openly….

Thought For the Day: To Be A Good Writer Be Direct, Clear and Simple First

“Anyone who wishes to become a good writer should endeavour, before he allows himself to be tempted by the more showy qualities, to be direct, simple, brief, vigorous, and lucid.” – H.W. Fowler, lexicographer (10 Mar 1858-1933)

Tea Leaf Sarabande

A sort of a kitchen sink sort of a poem… or maybe more of a tea cup’s worth of observations….

Chevreaux Chateau & Restaurant - Cuppa Hot Tea Waiting On My Lady

Tea Leaf Sarabande
by Michael Romani

Reading future in leaves of tea
Broken lines filled with symmetry
Trolls they say prefer the solitary
But even this can prove contrary

Two paths walked as one
Shimmered shadows come undone
Forked into ways of destiny
Indecision gets the best of me

Ghost stories pointing to the way
Of keeping magic sacred in our day
What was once is still now
Yet, that's okay, I feel, somehow

There's really nothing but the present
Each moment to be lived and not resent
Hoping to get home before the storm breaks
Seeking that shelter from our heartaches

Facing down our ghosts by firelight
Sitting here happy with you tonight
I seek forgiveness from your eyes
Seeking our bridge back not alibis

Bewitching in this trembled hour
I find myself enchanted in your power
Circles danced beneath torch light
There in the radiance that shines so bright

A child's game or perhaps more
There upon the lake's shore
Whispers of forget me not
Remind me of things that are forgot

Like promises made and made to keep
I've never known a willow not to weep
Dread falls upon the naked heather
In the weightlessness of the weather

What once was is now again
As though in a dream we awaken
The sunrise catches the craggy peak
Speaking words we cannot speak

How do we find our way back
To the certainty that we now lack
I offer you the grip of my strong hand
You give me yours and silently understand

Fixed Focus

Based in part on 1 John 3:

Caelestium Isle - Focused Altar of Devotion

Fixed Focus
by Michael Romani

Having learned that I cannot serve
More than the one that I deserve
Defining the character of Christianity
Far exceeds any pride or vanity

It is the four letter word of love
That brings us closer to God above
The sort of thing that brings push to shove
But always closer to God above

We must hold God above all other things
Living this despite what the day brings
Understanding the totality of this significance
Though sometimes we put aside its relevance

Worse still is how we forget to love each other
Missing out on doing right for one another
Focusing on all the wrong things to work it out
Keeping us shaken in whirlpool of misguided doubt

Signaled virtues miss the major point
That there is no scripture that will anoint
Anyone to speak in worldly unkindness
Though so many forget this in blindness

Love for God is the same love of our brother
Demonstrated in how we treat one another
Though some might seek this in some mystical other
It's as simple as simple does to your brother

To love God properly, open wide your eyes
To know that to love one another is no surprise
Plainly and clearly stated on the Bible's pages
Written there in no uncertain passing stages

But it applies to one and to all with divine power
This is the way to live in our every single hour
Keeping this command close to our inner heart
And to never, ever let this focus begin to depart

Looking out onto the world with God's eyes
We know that to serve others is the only reply
That will ever allow us any sense of satisfaction
Without stepping up to take needed action

Prayers and thoughts are good but not enough
When the things gone through are really tough
Instead it takes that moment to lend a hand
That is if you're going to do what God commands

Words are cheap and in bountiful supply
And not enough to look God straight in the eye
Remember that love is as love takes time to do
This is the truth of it for me and for you

Love's defining characteristic is soul sacrifice
The moment of giving that has but to suffice
Laying down one's very life if it must be
This is the price of fulfilling our sanctity

First Principles: Religion and Law Are Twin Sisters

“Far from being rivals or enemies, religion and law are twin sisters, friends, and mutual assistants. Indeed, these two sciences run into each other. The divine law, as discovered by reason and the moral sense, forms an essential part of both. ” – James Wilson

Lost In the Sound

Some days, I miss the bad ole days of playing music and thinking that was where my journey would always lead.

LEA11: -Mixtape Winter - Music Finds Its Way

Lost In the Sound
by Michael Romani

Taking all
All in stride
Taken for
A wild ride

Taken too
And through too
Many changes
Shaken through
All in view
Across the stages

Rooftop ballet
Tiptoed quietly
What can I say
Taken in so rightly
Singing songs
Nobody listens
Playing songs
Stage lights glisten

Each the other's audience
False fronts of diffidence
Prophets to the innocents
Hoped we'd make a difference

Hearts on fire
Down to the wire
Like guns for hire
Chasing our desires

Around
Around for the sound
Run aground
By what we found

Around
Around for the sound
Chase it down
Straight no chaser
Look what we found

They say
That we play
Too loud
Act
Too proud
It's not allowed
Chase it down
All for the sound
Run aground
Lost in the sound

A Study On Passover

Some have accused me of being a fool for God…. To them, I reply.  Why yes, thank you, I am… but I am your fool.  Dedicated to God and to serving my fellow humanity.   It matters not how little humane we can be from time to time…

Playa Perdida - Palm Garden

A Study On Passover
by Michael Romani

In the sacred time of memory
The Unleavened Bread Celebration
Is held to celebrate the family
Escaping Egypt toward their destination

Six in the evening starts the day
As the Passover feast begins
Tuesday has come to lead the way
At the memory of slavery's end

Celebration of 790 years past
The prophecy that God would walk
The coming of the messiah cast
Palm leaves and Hosanna were the talk

King of the kings entered town
Riding atop a humble donkey
A time of tribulation coming down
A coming of an unexpected legacy

Only not so unexpected as it was told
Rebbes and the devout had been waiting
A time of arrival as the prophecies hold
And the expectations seemed unsating

An unfolding unto the end of Palm Sunday
An Olivine discourse of coming legacy
Those things told in proverbial way
And would unfold unto the pages of history
