Crack of the Cosmic Sky

Started watching a series on various sites world wide that are connected with our world’s belief systems.  From that.. this:

Salt Water - Sun Rise

Crack of the Cosmic Sky
by Michael Romani

The story it seems
As it's told
Is that in the cosmic scheme
The world was already old

Before humanity walked the earth
Before our tears and our mirth
Almost even with our first breath
We wondered what lies beyond death

Each tribe of early man
Did what only we can
Building symbols of belief
Always seeking true relief

Monuments of brick and stone
In hope that we're not alone
Sculptures of ice and stone
Hoping that we might atone

Long before God was in Heaven
Communed over bread unleavened
He walked, talked and play on Earth
In community with us in cycles of sadness and mirth

There in the days when spirits talked
Monoliths were raised where pagans walked
A silent watch was held in reverence
Where love of earth was held in preference

For the rise of sun and fall of the moon
Where high tides and low tides come too soon
And life itself seems unfolds to pass by
There in the crack of the cosmic sky

Thoughts On Found Gratitude

Recently, I have found new reasons to smile and find cheerfulness.  In my growing moments of gratitude, it seems that maybe it’s time for heartfelt inventory of the good things in my life – past and present.

Onyx Orchards Fall Fest 2019 - Barnyard Friends

Thoughts On Found Gratitude
by Michael Romani

Newly found and welcome to me
Is a heart full of grace that speaks to me
Of all the warmth of hearth and company
A cheerfulness that approaches divinity

From such a time and comfort as at present
It is easy enough to let go of what I resent
Looking forward to more while also looking back
I find that there is very little that I lack

Still, this brings to mind an inventory
Of all the things that do make me happy
All of the blessings seen and finally known
I find joy in the abundance that has flown

To see the otters floating off of Monterey
Lazily sleeping hand in hand on the Bay
The rumor is this ensures they don't drift apart
There's a lesson there to take to heart

Three hundred thousand drifting rubber ducks
Are somewhere drifting out on the sea
What a thought to know through luck
That dolphins name each other in ancient mystery

As you sit there eating cereal, did you know
Captain Crunch's first name is actually Horatio?
Or that a single strand of spaghetti is a spaghetti?
Or that herring fish talk by letting gas go?

These are the things that make for life's dream
Like learning that the first oranges were green
I was born Scotland but I surely did not know
That the Scottish have more than 400 words for snow

Like me with you, sperm whales have best friends forever
And like me and you, that friend will not be forgot ever
To me, all of these happy bit seem overwhelmingly clever
And bring a smile to my face whatever my endeavor

These things and you will always bring me a smile
These things and you will get me through an endless mile
These and many more are my thoughts on new found gratitude
And if you see a smile on my face, I owe you this attitude

First Principles: The Longer We Live, the More Convincing Proofs Are Seen That God Governs In the Affairs of Men

“I have lived, Sir, a long time and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings that “except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel” – Benjamin Franklin

A New Found Treasure

There are things in this world that are priceless and not replaceable.  There are things given a value that outweighs their worth.  But the greatest treasure is that which cannot be taken and only given.

Love & Harmony Restaurant Revisited - Music For Young Lovers

A New Found Treasure
by Michael Romani

Uncertainty holds this world in her grip
Toes in pool dread the coming dip
There's enough chill to permeate me
With the knowledge of how little is known to me

It takes a bit of shame to hold the world in place
With a firm hand's hold to keep in strong embrace
All the sacred and holy places kept in mind
Have long since been half forgotten and left behind

All that we might think and thank of God as known
Have and has long since passed and been shown
As somehow a little less than once thought complete
And in many cases seemingly is unable to compete

For most, that the safe harbors of affliction
All the small pleasures of chosen addiction
That they cling to in this world's harshness
When all that surrounds fills with devious darkness

The touch of skin on skin amidst a warm kiss
Whispers of dreams we dare not, will not miss
Until there you are with eyes looking into eyes
And you find love waiting in its sweet surprise

Wiped away tear of the loss of yesterday's sorrow
Opens the way into the hopes for new tomorrows
Pathways of love and hope learned in trust
And when given, brings healing as it will and must

Dying to yesterday's illusion in its tiny death
Drawn together into our completeness joined in breath
Breathing you in as I watch you sweetly breath out
Hand in hand, two hearts touch without pang of doubt

Vision Strikes Its Pose

Always insight be it on stage or on screen, there’s a lot that goes into being a costume designer, right?

Luna Park by Cica Ghost -Cat Core On Stage

Vision Strikes Its Pose
by Michael Romani

To design, to tell a story
A costume in all its glory
Accents the story of the playwright
Bringing to life to the stage night

It's not about the laundry
Requiring the mental inventory
A story told in outside reflection
So subtle it often escapes detection

Little bits worn in our humanity
Broken down script without vanity
All the colors illuminate the scene
Into a stark fluidity of dream

Wardrobe dressed by imagination
Step by step wrapped in creation
Each color and texture play
With what the vision has to say

Like a painter whose work is never done
Costume design is never completely won
It's more a process of seeing what you need
As you accompany the plotline you read

All for the love of the performing arts
All of those things flowing from the heart
It's a matter of perception from the audience
Each subtle choice requiring a certain brilliance

To see and to known that you are always seen
In a theater's auditorium or from a movie screen
Larger than life, actors all strike their pose
Wearing the textured fabric the designer has chose
