First Principles: Liberties of the People Will Never Be Secure With Transparency In the Actions Taken By Their Rulers

“The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them.”  – Patrick Henry

If you do, perhaps 2020, is the time to have clear hindsight and vote the Democrats out of office.  The witch hunt should be over.  Taking bets that the Democrats will still attempt impeachment and then be shot down by the Senate.  The takeaway being that the Democrats are busily putting party before nation and as such should not be allowed to remain standing by The People.

Moon Chased Rabbit

Some brief thoughts on another side of life…

2018 Easter Bunny Trail - Garmeboard

Moon Chased Rabbit
by Michael Romani

When the moon chases the rabbit
Into believing she has total freedom
Then it seems a loss of nasty habit
When she can't outrun the kingdom

Out in the woods, life hides in shadow
Always seeking it's next meal
Running constant in its battle
Desperate and replete to reveal

That sorrow has its savage price
When some things cannot be bought
The owl hoots its sage advice
Beware of all things desperately sought

Camouflaged in its remonstration
That life as love will find its way
Given up in ready demonstration
That better than valor is to live another day

A Prayer For the Healing

No use whining about life’s complications really, right?  So let me just encourage everyone to love when they can and cry when you feel it’s needed. Keep your hearts open and find that bit of truth that works to make you feel warm and loved and know that we are all  precious in God’s eyes… no matter what I might otherwise say. 😉

A Prayer For the Healing
by Michael Romani

Trust and believe and surrender
Giving up being tough for tender
It seems to go against the grain
As I sit here with my Western brain

Holding too tight to my emotion
Failing to trust my body's devotion
Too many harms we do to us
With a steady diet of just because

There's an epidemic of sickness
That has hit our world with quickness
I have lived with such pain and being frustrated
That I openly joke that it's overrated

The ocean breaks on an uneven shore
As I pray that there might be something more
Knowing and trusting that there is a feeling good
Deeply wishing that I simply understood

In this world filled with angst and fear
While once strong, I wish only to persevere
Remembering back to the magic of my mother's kiss
That with Band-Aid in hand made all hurts desist

Praying for all with that wish to heal
The body's capacity waits to reveal
The thoughts we have, have their influence
The health we have is its confluence

The power that has made my body
Is the same power that will heal my body
In that intelligence to which we surrender
Learning true strength comes in being tender

Here in this dark night of my tortured soul
It is here that I begin again to take control
Part by part to piece together its construction
I will find my way past my unintended destruction

The Very Best of Something

Out there in the Hundred Acre Woods, there are a lot of tales to be told.  Some happy and filled with joy.  Some are bittersweet such as the feelings that come at childhood’s end…

Also, In the Hundred Acre Woods

The Very Best of Something
by Michael Romani

Picnicking in a hundred acre wood
Life should always be this good
Rich in our childhood's memory
The bits and pieces from our family

All the helloes and all the goodbyes
All the smiles and a quite a few cries
As thought of by the heart originally
But always gets the very best of me

A little sendoff at childhood's end
When at long last we say so long to friends
Some very real; others somewhat imaginary
But, all of whom seem our best family

Bouncy and trouncy in our enthusiasm
Best given foot in our optimism
It's best to tackle life head on
While keeping a little place for those gone

Holding on to those days of yesteryear
Where nowhere was our favorite place held dear
A pot full of honey could not be so sweet
As those who have made our lives complete

A little something to keep dreaming
A montage of images that keep streaming
The thing liked best is do nothing at all
But to sit here talking as childhood falls

Nothing beats a daydream shared by two
Especially when that daydream is me and you
There's just no question that doing nothing
Often leads to the very best of something

Haunted Cantana -Tears of Avalon

A song suggested by a new friend.  Odd reaction from me, a pretty and innocent song bringing tears to these eyes of mine.   Hoping that Loggins & Messina won’t mind me sharing this beautiful song they wrote so many years ago.  It somehow seems truly appropriate.

Thought For the Day: Believe In the Power of the Imagination

“I believe in the power of the imagination to remake the world, to release the truth within us, to hold back the night, to transcend death, to charm motorways, to ingratiate ourselves with birds, to enlist the confidences of madmen.” –  J.G. Ballard

First Principles: The Right To Bear Arms Is Based On Their Deterrence Against Attack and Infringement

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” – Cesare Beccaria
