Finding Our Way Home

There’s no place like home – there before the hearth’s warmth, knowing where we truly belong.  There is no deeper or richer feeling than to feel love for love’s sake than to love someone even deeper than that.

Fairplay Designs -Family Another Word For Love

Finding Our Way Home
by Michael Romani

In this world with its need for salvation
We see so many struggle toward happiness
Believing an entitled sense of destination
As we stave off the post-modern alienation

Even as we insist on darkness over light
We will persist that it's a God given right
That we should find happiness in all we do
And with no consequences for me and you

It's a matter, you may say, of equality
To be without, costs us some humanity
Demanding this to an nth degree of vanity
Without once doubting our veracity

Regardless of bad choices, we rationalize
That to say something of choices is to demonize
And to think that one knows better is to patronize
Or, so I've been told as I quietly agonize

I don't think on these things to antagonize
I say to my lady with her loving, laughing eyes
She knows that I've prone to over analyze
But, I will live love with her in our willing compromise

As fate promises, fate will always deliver
With both of us living as willing forgivers
Still, we know and believe that wonderful rumor
That this life of ours has its own special humor

Walking together in the ways of our daily love
Her more grounded, me depending more on the above
I have found my happiness deep in her devoted heart
And my place by her side, never to willingly depart

The Do Nothing Days

My inner child likes yours more than a little, he said…

Tequila Bae Beach -Lazing On A Summer's Holiday

The Do Nothing Days
by Michael Romani

The do nothing days come to pass
With only their memories held; alas
Kept as long as we can in our minds
Even after we're forced to leave them behind

Childhood friends that we'll never forget
Childhood pastimes that we'll never regret
Even if we should live to be hundred less one
The best of us cling fondly to things done

Never forgetting the best friends made
Talking endlessly in our childhood's shade
These friends we'll carry for our lifetime
To do anything less would surely be a crime

Fading away at bittersweet childhood's end
We are told to hurry along and put away pretend
Perhaps one of the roughest messages life will send
One from which so many never truly mend

First Reasons Lost

What becomes of our individual worlds when our first reasons are lost?

Greg's Bar - It's A Snow Globe World

First Reasons Lost
by Michael Romani

First reasons have been lost
And with that loss comes a cost
The giving up when it becomes
Too much to be more than numb

Reaching out then lashing out
Locked up miracles, confused as doubt
Crying out to those who cannot hear
Being brave enough for those who fear

Life becomes its own inquisition
Flexible in its open ended requisition
At the end of a rope still falling
Listening to all the voices calling

If we might just be here for each other
Like the good Lord says, loving one another
Accusations and lies will start to shatter
Into all those things we know really matter

This world is all extreme and too demanding
Needing bits of compassion and understanding
A little love might go a long, long way
Or, at least, get us through our busy days

Opening my doors of missed perceptions
Kept open enough in my self conceptions
Imagined as if this is all there is to real
Closed eyes see what true light reveals

The gray waters drown out my sorrow
Always praying for a better tomorrow
As snow falls with cold winter's calling
Trapped in dreams and always falling

It is not easy to rid us of our nightmares
Distant voyages beyond our concealed snares
Self inflicted until we fear we'll drown
Daring the cold as we go down and down

Brave souls stand strong, sometimes alone
Our firmest truths engraved in heart's stone
Slip stream consciousness is always there
As we hold our breaths past the point of clear

This is the escape from the lures of power
There in the lonely feeling of the teaching hour
One step beyond the dark night of the grave
Where only eternal memory can serve to save

Taken sight to prevent the bleak of seeing
All horrors that come to often for human beings
In this world lost without our first reason
The world turns revered in all of its seasons

Seeking the Face of God

Based in part on Psalms 27:8:

Paris 1900 - Stain Glassed Sacrifice

Seeking the Face of God
by Michael Romani

Thankful for being a child of God
Dwelling in prayer, not finding it odd
But a place that knows my gratitude
Keeping this thought in my attitude

Seeking always to look into God's face
Welcomed there in His loving embrace
Talking in prayer about all family matters
Keeping this in mind and not in tatters

Eye contact helps us learn to see and thrive
Helping us do so much more than survive
It's there in all of the most important things
Focusing on the best of what God freely brings

Seeking God just to be inside His holy presence
Filled with meaning, love and fully effervescence
Pressing in ever closer and seeking His company
Learning what it means to walk in the Holy

Life is what it is and then we know it's more than this
It's something there that we know that we miss
God presents what we need in our every lesson
Given freely and given for our earnest attention

If we seek Him with all earnestness, it's not in vain
There's a freedom in this truth that will not constrain
But instead comes to release our tethered bounds
And there we shall find our peace as it resounds

Hearing from heaven as we walk truly forgiven
Walking in harmony and finally truly we are living
In His strength we find our own learning to breathe
Breathing in all the righteousness we can conceive

Going to church on Wednesdays and Sunday to live
But never getting beyond the message to forgive
Forgetting that God actually really does indeed exist
And in this indwelling we find that we must persist

There are four things that we must keep and hear
Keeping in mind that it's always there in prayer
As we cling in prayer every single passing day
In so doing we keep in observance of Godly ways

With each morning waking, we need to acknowledge
Taking our truth out to the day's sleeping edge
Always aware of the truth of God's good presence
Thankfully full of blessings received in His essence

A hallelujah chorus joins in keeping daily thanksgiving
A daily encounter found in every verse read in giving
All the scriptures that are filled with God's nature
As we wean off milk and as Christians we mature

Jesus is the Word and that Word is the God we praise
May that always be walked and talked in our days
As The Word came to walk among us, Emmanuel
And in this knowledge may we always dwell

Clearing out the clutter that feels up our life
Keeping us from peace and filled with strife
To fill up our life with God, we need to un-clutter
Dragging our lives out of the spiritual gutter

Over idolizing things instead of our spirituality
Though functionally aware of the eventuality
That we all have a need to be in God's presence
If we are to be still and filled with His loving essence

Always turning our eyes toward Him and center
Focused on the holiness that we might enter
A bit of heaven right here on our sacred ground
Blessed in His company as we are found

Thought For the Day: Having Played and Lost Their Hand On a Nothing Burger, the Left Will Now Turn On Mueller

Not so much a quote as normal here but something that warrants being documented as it’s already taking place.  Here is a quote from a Left leaning journalist… followed by a hacker criminal turned Democratic dream team all star proving just how right the honest assessment of the first is:

“Turning on Mueller and impugning his integrity and competence is the inevitable outcome — it’s the only play the Trump/Russia devotees have.”  – Glenn Greenwald, journalist

So within days of the report, what do we have?  Check it out:

“You have a president who, in my opinion, beyond a shadow of a doubt, sought to, however ham-handedly, collude with the Russian government or foreign power to undermine and influence our elections.” – Beto O’Rourke (after the issue of the Mueller Report)

And yet, the fact that Bernie Sanders openly colluded with foreign nationals allowing these as active campaign consultants not just in the 2016 election cycle but even presently for the 2020 Bernie campaign is ignored:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bernie-sanders-accused-of-violating-federal-election-laws-after-employing-foreign-nationals-in-advisory-positions

We don’t have to think hard to see the active collusion in the HRC campaign, the Dossier itself is proof of this.

But what we might want to be asking is if the Left is still seeking more investigation and disclosure about foreign national collusion, why the above is being ignored and why pertinent questions are not.  Which pertinent questions are being ignored?  I’m so glad you asked….

“You want disclosure? Me too. But let’s see all of it. Not just Mueller’s report. Let’s see everything: all of the memoranda relevant to the opening of the investigation, all of the testimony at closed hearings, all of the FISA-warrant applications, all of [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein’s scope memo.” –  Andrew McCarthy, former U.S. Attorney

Side bets taken here for how long it takes for the Left to crucify Mr. Mueller…

First Principles: We Must Never Allow Partiality or Extraneous Matters To Interfere With the Electoral Process

“We should be unfaithful to ourselves if we should ever lose sight of the danger to our liberties if anything partial or extraneous should infect the purity of our free, fair, virtuous, and independent elections.” – John Adams (1797)

Unknown Knowns Shown

Sometimes it takes a blind man to see…

The Estate Formerly Known As Summer Trace V

Unknown Knowns Shown
by Michael Romani

Disrupting life's tranquility
In the search for equality
We find we've died over
And over in the attempt to discover
A way past life's confusion
Confronting each illusion
Hopeful that we might be more
Patronized by the score
All of the points without meaning
In a Barbie doll's world of dreaming
We each have died this death
Having next to nothing left
Like strangers on a cosmic train
These are the conditions that strain
Beyond all known convention
To be someone beyond rendition
It's the invisible side that matters
It's the visible side that shatters
Blindness leads to its own power
Until life itself turns to devour
This then is the unknown known
And as such just waits to be shown
Tell me now can you see it
Because if you can you can be it

Tending the Mind Body Connection

Increasingly, we are finding that the body and mind have tremendous capacity to heal and otherwise exceed expectations.

Tending the Mind Body Connection
by Michael Romani

The twenty first century
Turns its new direction
In terms of modern biology
Finding there's a mind body connection

All parts are reparative
At least in the comparative
There inside each of us is an architect
Waiting for each of us to detect

The pathways leading to destiny
Help us shape our healing journey
As an acorn becomes the oak tree
A natural intelligence shapes you and me

Disease is the injury that took the hit
And the immune system is what heals it
To bring back ease by stepping back
Allowing all resistance to fade to black

We are shaken to our foundation
When things come that defy contemplation
The root cause has become defined as stress
And it is this that we must first address

Modern stress takes us all out of balance
And it is to this that we must apply our talents
No longer thinking in terms of flight or fight
While advancing plagues remove us from our light

There is in this synthesis of possibility
Lies the answers of greatest probability
The mind and body's intense connection
Brings us to this new sense of direction

The modern world plays on a loop of stress
That plays out twenty four seven without egress
We must instead find our way to intentional living
And toward ourselves become more loving and forgiving
