Lessons From Thomas

Based in part on John 20: 24-31:

Fairy Tales Castle I Believe In Magic

Lessons From Thomas
by Michael Romani

Oh my God, I have so much doubt
Always wondering what it's about
Expectations so seldom feeling met
Too many turns that I sadly regret

Sometimes, I wonder if you really care
And though I fear I ask you when I dare
It seems no doubt that Thomas has little on me
Always needing proof of God's integrity

Asking and demanding things, I have no right
Needing to see by own eyes and through my sight
All that it is that is needed to truly know
Feeling like a fool dancing in the shadows

When I seem faithless no longer willing to believe
You faithfully teach me more than I can conceive
All of this serving mostly to show my need to learn
And by so growing, I come to the point of knowing to discern

First Principles: Liberty Is One of the Most Precious Gifts Which Heaven Bestows On Mankind

“Liberty is one of the most precious gifts which heaven has bestowed on man; with it we cannot compare the treasures which the earth contains or the sea conceals; for liberty, as for honor, we can and ought to risk our lives; and, on for the other hand, captivity is the greatest evil that can befall man.“ – Miguel de Cervantes

In Memory of 9/11

We must never forget what extremists brought on this day

We must always linger on the troubles that come humanity’s way

We must also never forget that we are all the children of God

And that God would have us love and tolerate even the odd

In every patriot’s heart there is a sad, overwhelming ache

From when madmen thought our America would break

With acts of brazen inhumanity they instead breathed new life

Into a peace loving people who are yet not afraid of strife

With each act of bravery and all acts of loving kindness

We help each other see past the intended blindness

This then is the America that I will always cherish and love

Set like a city on the hill to set example of that which is above

This then is then is the American that will always come together

To  create newness out of ashes and continue to seek the better

It is, indeed, my sweet country tis of thee

Home of the brave and of God’s enduring liberty

Let freedom ring!

And the new day bring

All that we are meant to be

Preferring peace as it should be

Unafraid to fight if needed

The words of the Founders heeded

We will join hands with the Godly

Remembering we are all part of humanity

And carry our dreams forward to the future

In both nature and our nurture

Shining as a lighted beacon on a hill

Losing our sight neither on freedom nor God’s will

A Writer’s Block

Writing stories is a particular craft.  There are numerous reasons that writers sometimes stop writing.  But, when they do….

The Arabesque Cafe -It Is Written In A Book of Shadows

A Writer's Block
by Michael Romani

Writing a story with acuity
Is like mental archeology
There's madness in the methodology
And then the semblance of truthful theology

There are always buried things
That unbury themselves as the new day brings
The hidden into the revealed
And new things come to light no longer concealed

Too many snapped judgments are tangled
In confluence of meaning that are mangled
So much of everything is subjective interpretation
So little of it subjected to deep contemplation

There is always much we do not know
The little things that on their own seem to grow
It's in the playground of this literary art
That wonderment is spoken from the heart

Venerable tales told in the twinkling of light
That capture the moments of dream filled night
Book ended between spirals of creation
The author is caught usurped by glimpsed fascinations

Way of Things

Life and love are best lived in giving and letting go of fear.

LEA22 - Seeking - Post Modern Thinker

Way of Things
by Michael Romani

Every problems asks for solution
Said the keeper of genuine seeking
The passage of light in contribution
Pardoned by the innocent peeking
Just inside the corner pocket
Where love is kept inside a locket
Talking only to those who can hear
Who have moved beyond the dark energy of fear
What a wonder it is to read and write
Finding the right words at the edge of night
We travel harder into our furthest distance
Holding tight with the greatest resistance
Searching for the beauty in fun
When all are passed by and two become one
The lantern light shines the way
As each tomorrow becomes a new day
Broken hearted in my sadness
I fear I might lose my way to madness
It has become the way of all things
The trouble felt in all of history
Funny, isn't it, how much remains a mystery

Thought For the Day: Realize That True Happiness Lies Within You

“Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.” – Og Mandino
