First Principles: An Equal Dispensation of Protection, Rights, Privileges and Advantages Is What Every Part Is Entitled To and Ought To Enjoy

Thought For the Day: Society Cannot Trample On the Weakest and Feeblest of Its Members Without Receiving the Curse In Its Own Soul

The Dreamwork of Nightmares

In these dark times when it is so hard to be optimistic, can anyone be blamed for having nightmares?  But what then are these?

The Dreamwork of Nightmares
by Michael Doyle

Even still as we grow and mature
We find a dark side in our human nature
Regardless of our striving and cares
The dream self knows its nightmares

This dream self is sometimes our true selves
Despite our bodily defects or books on shelves
All of these things we suffer and then endure
Both gods and demons cause us to be impure

There is significance to our bad dreams
Played out in full color and monochromatic scenes
Do we find in our warped sense of responsibility
That we seemingly set our own contextuality

As wish fulfillment for what we believe we desire
These are the alarms that set our souls on fire
So much comes to us though almost thoughtlessly
Unpacked into its measure triggering us needlessly

Our naked psyches in all of their division
Know their own self justified moments of derision
So much is layered as if in misty stages
As though perhaps these are ghost written pages

Multiplicity is condensed as if into one
Either completing us or making us come undone
All of our wishes are masterpieces of contortion
Suitable at best as graceless moments of distortion

Each of us, as so it seems, have a dark side
Unwanted desires that we hide behind our pride
The curtain blows in its irony of stark suppression
There in the caverns of our blackened depression

A flood erupts from our sternest repression
Coming across in levels of fuzzy impression
Rebounding into our nightmares of closed reality
Lived out in the scripts of our actuality

Rehearsing our darkest fears greeted at arrival
We will, at last, find our way into our survival
The mind and brain are again cleared; made clean
Sanitized as it were and is even in our worse dreams

Thoughts On the Hubble Space Telescope

I find it fascinating that my lady love and I are both interested in things like the exploration of universe and soul.   I actually wrote this poem yesterday but didn’t post it.  Sort of ran out of time talking… hmmpph….

Sagan Palentarium - Hubble Telescope

Thoughts On Hubble
by Michael Doyle

Overhead we see our silver river
A straw path toward our forgiver
Today, we call this the Milky Way
Crossing our paths in each of our passing days

Light pollution in the many urban skies
Blots this beauty out from youthful eyes
But in our darkest places, we study where they are
These same three billion glowing stars

New stars form and shine for us to see
Out there in this vast cloudy sea
This where we wonder wandering in our home
Puzzling over the question of if we're alone

Into this, we have sent the Hubble to spy
To discover what we might marvel over in its supply
There in that vast interstellar tapestry
Revealing to us piece by piece, parts of this mystery

With a blackhole at the center of our galaxy
There in a silver cluster of great immensity
Light years map our universe's multiple faces
In its intensity, this is what serves as our spaces

Launched as a deep space program in 1983
The Hubble telescope studies this galactic sea
Overlapping in their core of traced light years
We wish on these to assuage our hidden tears

In a billion galaxies more than one star is born
Continuing blessed it assures us not to be forlorn
Pinks and blues meld together in their collective
Giving our night skies a spiraled perspective

Diffuse light finds its similarity
As Hubbles searches for some familiarity
And yet, you and I wish on our stars tonight
To have those wishes allowed as they might

Thought For the Day: On Each Part of the Human Race Is Laid the Duty To Keep Alight Its Own Lamp of Mind As Its Part In the Illumination of the World

“On each race is laid the duty to keep alight its own lamp of mind as its part in the illumination of the world. To break the lamp of any people is to deprive it of its rightful place in the world festival.” -Rabindranath Tagore, poet, philosopher, author, songwriter, painter, educator, composer, Nobel laureate (7 May 1861-1941)

I would differ with this in the recognition that despite our differences in skin tint, there is only one race, the human race.  I will gladly amend this on the discovery of aliens.  But in all parts, human or otherwise, we should allow almost all cultures to be celebrated in their diversity.   I say almost because I’m not particularly of those who would kill off others for not agreeing with their views such as say ISIS and other such groups.  Otherwise, there is world of beautiful and wonderous differences which should be celebrated for the worth they bring to us as human beings.  I hasten to add the obvious, included in this is that Caucasian peoples and culture should be celebrated as well.  All lives matter.   Anyone who says otherwise is a hater of the worse kind.

First Principles: They Define A Republic To Be A Government of Laws and Not of Men

“They define a republic to be a government of laws, and not of men.” – John Adams, in Novanglus No. 7 (March 6, 1775)

Consider this a hugely needed public service announcement.  We should never allow America to become a mob ruled democracy.  I am ashamed of every so called American leader who refers to the US as a democracy or says we who have fought for America fight for ‘democracy’.  We are a republic.  It’s set forward in our Constitution.   As set out above, it’s clear to see the difference for all but the willfully blind or those clearly ignorant of the very fabric of our nation.

Handling A Bad Day

Based in part on 2 Cor 1:8 :

Highland Hills -Celtic Crossed In Blue

Handling A Bad Day
by Michael Doyle

Slewfoot raises to destroy
Always out to kill your joy
If you serve God, you endure
The temptations for sure

Brave hearts without fear
Through our prayers, keep God near
Always practiced so sincere
This  faith of mine remains clear

Approaching life with integrity
I thank the Lord for the clarity
Of knowing that we will be right
Walking in God's healing light

Finding heart on my old knees
I seek only to do what will please
Listening to what God will speak
I'll climb to the top of the peak

Seeking after our great courage
Even in times that do discourage
Fighting against our sad inclination
We hold on despite our desperation

Sometimes this is from our choices
Other times, it takes away our voices
Through no fault really of our own
We are so blessed to know we're not alone

Giving to God  in our supplication
The burdens of our daily temptation
Thankful for our joy and gratitude
Affixed to our lives our right attitude

First Principles: We Have No Government Armed With Power Capable of Contending With Human Passions Unbridled By Morality and Religion

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” –  John Adams

On the 1619 Project

An ahistorical work that seeks to repudiate the founding principles of America won the Pulitzer Prize today.   In my eyes, all luster is now gone to both the Nobel prizes and the Pulitzer with this move.   It’s not as though critics from both conservative circles and from the Left as well have not pointed out that the narrative has very little basis in documentable facts.  Nor has it not been pointed out time and again that The 1619 Project is little more than a propagandist hit piece.  Yet still it’s being put into the curriculum across our nation and now this prize.  It’s horrifying really.

Indiana State Museum - Natural History Section

On the 1619 Project
by Michael Doyle

It's not just my proposition that victimhood
Can never be promising for the public good
We are a nation of individuals equal under law
Not a nation of groups divided into all against all

The 1619 Project may have won the Pulitzer Prize
But is wrong minded and is ahistorical in discerning eyes
We who love America cannot allow this tool of alienation
By propaganda untrue to history and values sway our nation

Replacing the true meandering path of American history
The miscreants who wrote this hope for historical illiteracy
And embrace divisive group rights based on political identity
Having more to do with asserted privilege than history

It can never be the right path to allow Balkanization
Surely not, for those wanting the good of our nation
Our unalienable rights have always been our struggle
Still, the Declaration of Independence was not a bungle

These propagandists insist America was built on tyranny
Having very little, if anything, to do with liberty
Passing over the Notes from the Constitutional Convention
These alleged journalists prefer fiction of their own invention

Toxifying the record of compromise in the name of pluralism
Giving sway into a liar's club of outright ill-liberalism
This is little more than arbitrary, capricious mal-intent
The plain wrong of self-loathing in virtue signaling content

Its purposes are the clear nonsense of repudiation
Attempting to do away with the core principles of our nation
Overturning our republican values to favor of democracy
In all of its self serving mob rule sense of mentality

Where if something is said loudly enough it becomes true
For a false sake of social justice that just won't do
Unity is needed through true consideration of what's told
And not this bill of goods that has been oversold

Even the Trotskyites declaim the project's integrity
Grappling as it does with the fabric of lacked legitimacy
Sincere Socialists rightfully asserting that issues need be real
It's the conceived truth not ill-liberal fairy tales we must reveal
