What Is the Enough?

Of some things, we can never have enough.

Cooper Creek Wilderness - Gonna Take Myself A Stroll

What Is the Enough?
by Michael Romani

Of nature, art and poetry
All of these things dear to me
There is never enough to be enough
Nothing in the world can ever bluff

Past those things that have meaning
And make this the best of all being
It's clear to all truly seeing
These are what make a human being

It is in these that we'll always find
Those things that bring peace of mind
With the heavens as our best canopy
How can anyone ever remain unhappy

In these things we find our best remedy
For removing that feeling of being lonely
In the beauty of nature's circumference
We find comfort despite any circumstance

All that God has meant to be shown
In all our ways, our best us is grown
in the solace of all troubles that may come
All of this and then even more and then some

There in this is where we may come to find
The way to truly leave troubles behind
The wilderness that I'll waste my time in
Again and again, leaving behind all sin

For this is God's best mark to be found
And met in all the beauty that surrounds
Weeping tears that grow the flowers
And in so doing make for our best hours

Thought For the Day: Rest, Nature, Books, Music and Love For One’s Neighbor Bring Happiness

“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor — such is my idea of happiness.”  – Leo Tolstoy, Family Happiness

Kill Buzz

Life is funny, right?

SL16B: Astonish - Back to the Moon

Kill Buzz
by Michael Romani

I don't mean to constantly over analyze
But, I don't find it compassionate to criticize
Every thing that a person says or does
It's actually kind of a kill-buzz
That someone who says she has a big heart
Has always looked for the wrong from the start
Sometimes words of love are just that that
I know, I know maybe that's just too matter of fact
But, when you continually try to find wrong in me
It sort of kills off the very best of me
I wonder who taught you this as a way of being
I wonder who blinded you into calling this seeing
When I look at you and all of our differences
I look at the wonders and see it as righteous preferences
Opening my mind, my heart and soul to another being
And opening my eyes to the world that you're seeing
I have learned so much from you and I take the best
Allowing you mostly to be comfortable in the rest
But, when you start to try to make me feel small
It makes it very hard for me to love and recall
That maybe your world has taught that only you're right
I don't see it that way and try to offer you my sight
I don't do it because I think that only I'm right
But, because maybe there are things to see from my sight
I guess maybe I thought that was that part of caring
That others might be alright with and call it sharing
I'm not sure where this became somewhat of a fight
It's odd to me that until this I saw you in the best light
And now I find that you're fighting fights that don't matter
As I watch our love crumble and feel my heart shatter
I saw you with him again dancing beside him …
My breath drew shallow and my sight a little dim
Is this what has become of what once felt so very right
I looked away not wanting to cry or fight

To Begin As It Began

Like the sea many of the best things in life ebb and flow, in and out and expanding just to contract back into its depths.

To Begin As It Began
by Michael Romani

Like two ships adrift and at sea
That how it is they came to meet
No small trick, just a matter of destiny
There at the shore's stormy seat

From two different worlds apart
But like the sea joins at the heart
Those who are truly meant to be
It's all part of life's mystic journey

There where they fit their best
Is that place they find their rest
A true heart beams like a lighthouse beckoning
Ever present in the stormy sea's reckoning

A love felt as one that will persist
As only true love knows and exists
Two worlds maybe never meant to collide
Joined now as one that has trust to confide

It becomes true that life and love as it should be
Two hearts joined as one in known destiny
The sea carries away the sting of tears felt
As life hands not its cards so casually dealt

A soft kiss goodbye until together again
Such is as life is and always has been
All life begins and returns to where begun
Until that day that two can be as one

How can it be that we'll ever forget
Those things we know and will never regret
To understand ourselves, we go to where we began
Time is as fleeting as an hour glass' sand

Sniper’s Sight

Was thinking of how it is for snipers out there serving our country…

The Upward Spiral - Scope!!! ... Twice A Day...

Sniper's Sight
by Michael Romani

Hail Mary, full of grace
She counts the beads of her rosary
Holding to the faith she embraces
Praying for the protection of her family

A bullet will kill you three ways
He explains with eyes that glaze
Dulled by the ironic absurdity
Of sharing with the utmost clarity

That while diamonds may not be forever
Despite pithy sayings that feel clever
A bullet's path is that forever
From its truth many souls end all endeavors

Never wanted and never desired
The hurt inside makes him feel tired
Promises made but unable to be kept
Countless are the tears he has silently wept

A bullet will kill you in three ways
The sniper recounts his remembered plays
If you hit any solid extremity
You will bleed out in about almost 20 minutes precisely

If it hits the center of the chest
The bullet come to find and enter
The bullet will tumble until it rests
As muscles tear and bones splinter

The blood pressure will drop to zero
One more cold medal for one more dead hero
The last shot is what is called the kill shot
Straight to the head and death is instantly brought

Like a marionette with all its strings cut
You've died before it even registers in your gut
This then is part of the sniper's creed
This then is what is sometimes necessary, agreed?

At least that's what generals and politicians say
They've never looked seen this in a sniper's way
When you watch the eyes close for all eternity
Or stay wide open as though staring through me

There is a ghost that remains for every lost soul
And there is next to nothing that will console
The haunted nights when I dare not close my eyes
Instead I lay awake all night and wait for the sunrise
