Who Do You Say That I am?

Based in part on Matthew 15:16:

Nocturne-Vampire the Masquerade- The All Seeing Owl

Who Do You Say That I Am?
by Michael Romani

Sometimes stigmatized by the visual
Here in this age of consuming digital
I see what my eyes choose to see
Wondering if it's with great acuity

Sometimes lost in false assumptions
Confused by the plethora of presumption
The impressions given and tossed
All the certainty that I have lost

One too many knee jerk reactions
That I cling to in distractions
That make me sometimes levitate
But always cause me to gravitate

Until I take a moment and recall
All the passages since the fall
God help me if I don't see how blind
It is that I am inside my mind

All jacked up in daily measure
Some hide it away like a treasure
But, then I see with God's eyes
Feeling naked in my shredded disguise

Sweet Jesus, how am I doing with you?
Are you just as troubled by what I do
As I am as I look inside my cracked mirror
Pretending to be strong when it couldn't be clearer

That I am as weak as a man whose heart breaks
Shriveled by so much wrong it makes my soul shake
Despite your love and kindness of words spoken
There's very little comfort in being this broken

An anchor of confidence just needs a little trust
Just a little oil to move out past the rust
Promises made and kept despite my imperfections
Do not escape the uneasy eye of my deflection

I wish just once to meet your solid approval
So desperately wanting in seeking daily renewal
Looking at you girl in all your creativity
I see that you needed to escape my negativity

And now here it is that I stand this alone
Casting my part like a warrior made of stone
But, I know that as long as we're apart
I am only one half of this broken heart

First Principles: Every Master of Slaves Is A Petty Tyrant Bringing Judgment of Heaven On Their Nations

“Every master of slaves is born a petty tyrant. They bring the judgement of heaven upon a country. As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins by national calamities.”  – George Mason, Founding Father

That calamity indeed came in the form of the Civil War.  But along the way there were countless depravations that our nation suffered by allowing this petty and merciless tyranny to coexist along side our republican values.

And still today slavery exists more so outside the United State than here.  Yet, it does remain here even to today and so very few voices are lifted against its indignities here or abroad.  What has to wonder that makes a person feel so superior to another that the would enslave that person or persons?

Let’s Be Nerds Together

I was watching something transpire and as it happened it occurred to me… sometimes there’s that ideal match.  You might be superstars who find each other and shine on.  Or, as more usually the case in the world of the tragically cool, you burst into flames and there’s no more forever.  On the other hand when two people find their shine despite being total nerds.. I mean is there anything cooler than that?  I think not.

Geeks n Nerds - Outside Looking In

Let's Be Nerds Together
by Michael Romani

If I'm a nerd
And you're a nerd
Maybe at a word
We could be nerds together?

Because your kind of nerd
Is my kind of nerd
Just say the word
And we'll make it better

We only have one chance
We only get this dance
I'll take the stance
And live life's circumstance

I'll live it with you
If you say it's true
That love is life and life is love
Wishing on miracles from above

Being brave enough
To be just that tough
And live each moment we live
Giving it all that we can give

If I'm a nerd
And you're a nerd
Maybe it's just a word
And we belong together?

Letter To A Friend

I was thinking on something earlier.  Sadly, I often do that.  Think.   Doesn’t always pay off well.  This time maybe it did.

Artic Express - Ten Letters For Love of My Life?.... Ally Romani

Letter To A Friend
by Michael Romani

The world can be a cruel place
He says with a well meaning face
This world swallows up the innocent
Without meaning to be so proficient

You get one life to make it right
You need to decide how to spend it
Take it serious or take it light
In the end, it's you who'll defend it

You live it in full compliance
Or choose to walk the path of self-reliance
The choice is truly up to you
In how you'll face everything you'll do

It may seem at times beyond detection
But there's no better time for reflection
This is when you gain true self-respect
And what's right to do and what to neglect

It's a game played inside your mind
One that allows you to leave madness behind
I've been watching you wish on a star
And I believe in you to become just who you are

First Principles: Slavery Is Repugnant To Christian Principles and Rebellion Against God

“Domestic slavery is repugnant to the principles of Christianity. . . . It is rebellion against the authority of a common Father. It is a practical denial of the extent and efficacy of the death of a common Savior. It is an usurpation of the prerogative of the great Sovereign of the universe who has solemnly claimed an exclusive property in the souls of men.” – Benjamin Rush

The Dissolution of Liberal Democracy

Not so long ago, it was announced with great fanfare that history had ended and Liberal Democracy had won.  The globalists believed there was no most struggle and that it made little difference with we made microchips or potato chips.

I am fairly certain that most folks know where I stand on that whole thing.  This a look at that. If you don’t, let me sum this up as the founding principles of the United States are the cornerstone of any real progress for the liberty of all mankind.  It may be called ‘conservative’ by progressives en large and sure some on the conservative side even allow that misnomer to apply.  Reality?  This is the only real liberalism, classical liberalism.

What is called liberalism today is as regressive as it comes.  It’s harkens back to the days when we the People were but vassals.  Progressives have now shown their true faces in their renewed call to arm to disarm the People and to encourage the wanton killing of innocent lives for the sake of convenience.  Only by adhering to moral courage and instilling republic values such as virtue in our children will we ever reclaim our land to the greatness it once was and can and should be again.

Memorial Day 2014 - Flags

The Dissolution of Liberal Democracy
by Michael Romani

Communism, fascism and liberal democracy
Fought to become the rule of the 20th Century
In the end, there was one voice left standing
Like a global mantra that was left commanding

Bringing a tiny elite rising to the top
It was thought the march of globalism wouldn't stop
It seemed preordained as a sort of modern theocracy
Suddenly its become that we need a new way to gauge reality

To the elite, Trump and Brexit spell the end
Doubting Thomases believe civilization is pretend
This is failing is made worse by the internet's disruption
It's become an algorithm of massive interruption

Transformed from killing mosquitos to killing thought
The world changes through the technology we had sought
All of this entrusted to toolmakers poor at seeking wisdom
Neophytes unready for the all the more to come

Ordinary people sense that the world has passed them by
While political leaders shake their heads wondering why
What was once touted as the triumphant age of the ordinary
Has transformed over night into the extraordinary

In the TED talk world of media's mass exploitation
The people have become self aware of their manipulations
As they cannot ignore the pervasive mounds of evidence
That the ordinary people have increasing irrelevance

Here lies the crux of the overwhelming shatter of confidence
There in that struggle between progressive panic and Providence
Here we are again perched at that disruptive confluence
Where we endure a crisis in liberal democracy's influence

A Franz Ferdinand moment brought on that first great war
Where power politics wanted for greed and all the more
In a savagery of brutal, kid's gloves off imperialism
The Great Powers sliced and diced through liberalism

And with greater price than had been ever sought
A new world order arose at the price for which it was bought
Promises of freedom and peace were feigned into fascism
Which in its turn brought Che Guevara's communism

Still in the end it was supermarket liberalism
And not the gulag that won the battle over this foul 'ism
Supple and dynamic liberalism adapted to greater equality
And in so conceding kept its conceptions of liberty

But now the days are approaching when all of this in question
The elite globalists are ready to pull the plug without hesitation
The people they say are not capable of handling today's issues
And if you cling to liberty, well, they offer us tissues

Happy Groundhog Day!  Combine Milkwood writing group’s poem of the day into a celebration for today.  Good news!  Spring is predicted to arrive early!

POD 1 – Haiku 5-75

A Haiku Passage On Groundhog's Day
by Michael Romani

Ground Hog Day passes
Without a shadow growing
Spring will come early

No need for fireworks
This man is happy enough
Knowing this plain truth

Lightning crashes softly
There in the distance it's seen
But then so do I

Like nature's fireworks
There in that noontime dark sky
The world keeps spinning

Truth known so do I
In this passing of the days
Spring is needed here

Infanticide Is Not the Right Side of History

This recent move by the Democrats is as shocking as it is revolting.  Below are first some thoughts that coincide with my own.  Then, if I can find it, I will post here videos of these pro -infanticide politicians.  I would have never thought I would see this day when any thinking American would support killing a child once she or he was out of the womb.  God is, indeed, crying!

“In just a few years pro-abortion zealots went from ‘safe, legal, and rare’ to ‘keep the newborns comfortable while the doctor debates infanticide.’ I don’t care what party you’re from — if you can’t say that it’s wrong to leave babies to die after birth, get the hell out of public office.” – Ben Sasse

“It’s kind of amazing that the people who love crowing about the ‘right side of history’ seem to think that history is going to look kindly upon infanticide.”- Peter J. Hasson

“How will the abortion lobby and its media allies deal with the shocking candor of Del. Tran and Gov. Northam? By denying that they meant what they said. By telling people not to believe what they heard with their own ears and saw with their own eyes on the videos. It won’t work.” – Robert P. George

Proving that Mr. George was not wrong… here’s one the advocates for infanticide trying to walk back what he very openly and candidly stated:

“I have devoted my life to caring for children and any insinuation otherwise is shameful and disgusting.” – Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam

Would a person who cared for children advocate the killing of children after they’ve been delivered from the mother’s womb?

“If a mother is in labor … the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physician and mother.” – Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam

Couple this with Governor Cuomo got passed in New York legalizing the killing of unwanted children up to birth:

New York State Senate Passes Bill Permitting Abortions up to Birth

This now makes seven states that have embraced the culture of death.  To me this is sickening and heartbreaking.   Protecting a woman’s rights should include the unborn ones as well.
